He said it, not me.

Paul Johnson, on the bizarrely disastrous play call that led to the last score of yesterday’s Music City Bowl:

… Paul Johnson called a reverse pass by sub receiver Corey Dennis, who wound up fumbling the ball into the end zone for an Ole Miss safety. Johnson said afterward he’d been waiting to call that play because he “knew it would work.” He also said: “If it works, I’m a genius. If it doesn’t, I’m a dumbass.”

Well, if he’s waiting for somebody to argue with him, he’ll be waiting for a while.

It’s all turned to ashes for Mark Bradley, hasn’t it?

You know what? Coaches don’t get to use that cliche. That’s for sportswriters, Coach.

And you’re a dumbass either way for calling trick play BS that close to your own end zone with that much time left to go. You’re a double dumbass for expecting a backup to run it. I love you forever, Paul Johnson.

“If it doesn’t, I’m a dumbass.” A rare moment of honest introspection by a true dickhead.

He’s a dumbass for thinking a ridiculous trick play that any one of us could have drawn up in the dirt would constitute genius.

The genius also called the logo trip play. One of the greatest bumbler moments ever!!!!

Just like the time a couple of years ago against UGA when the Dogs were kicking a field goal and missed it. But the Genius had called a time out prior to the snap to “ice’ the UGA kicker. We kicked again, and of course, made it the second time! HAHAHAHHAHHA

Man, this is all SO funny! He would have been better off to throw the home run that worked earlier in the game when the OM db fell down…Or just run the trick play towards your own goal line because it seems to move the ball backwards at such a furious pace.
Over on Stingtalk they seem to have finally had enough. I dread the day he’s replaced.

Funniest thing about Stingtalk is how, despite the rest of cfb not buying it, they’re convinced Roof is going to craft them the modern-day ’85 Bears D.
