The worm turns.

Little surprise from the biggest weather vane in the business:

I hope Mrs. Malzahn isn’t the jealous type.

He’s just aping Cowherd. Apparently the new party line at the WWL is that Malzahn/AU have passed Saban/Bama, and next year “AU WILL be better than Alabama.” That ought to keep the pot stirred all through the winter and summer months. Cowherd was fellating Bob Stoops on the radio this am, congratulating him for “giving the SEC a comeuppance by dominating a team that has dominated the SEC.” Sheesh.

Whenever I see his ugly mug with RTR tattoed on his forehead, I change the channel. Thank heaven for remote control. PF=a dick with ears.

I ran into Finebaum in the Atlanta Airport recently. Up close and in person it’s even worse than on TV. He looks exactly like a penis with ears wearing a tie and glasses.

In that same segment he also admitted he was an idiot. That made me smile.

So Finebaum is admitting he’s not only a poor evaluator of coaches, but an astonishingly poor evaluator of coaches.

Unless Malzahn and Saban are #1 and #2 best cfb coach in history…then it aaaaallllllll hangs together.

I just don’t get why people gravitate to him. He is neither a very good interviewer nor a polarizing personality (although he certainly tries).

Every time I have to drive through Alabama and catch 2-3 minutes of his “show”, I feel stupider for the experience.

I’ve actually found that he’s a pretty good interviewer when the person he’s interviewing has nothing to do with college football, or it’s Bart Starr, whose awesomeness overcomes the general awfulness of Finebaum. Essentially, about four interviews per year. Otherwise, his show is just performance art for rednecks with phones.

He’s not entirely off; Saban had a VERY easy SEC slate, nothing but tuneups and garbage for OOC, and couldn’t seal the deal. Of the four entire teams worth anything on Bama’s schedule, he had a solid victory over LSU, a shootout win over Aggy (so they’re a little better than Duke, I guess), the choke against Auburn and a butt-whooping by Bob Stoops of all people.

For comparison’s sake, take our four toughest games. A win over LSU, like Bama, a win over South Carolina- better than any other Bama win- a hail mary loss to Auburn, and the loss to Mizzou when we were operating with a skeleton crew.

Alabama had TEH BEST QUARTERBACK EVAH, TEH BEST COACH EVAH, a joke schedule, the SEC front office and the refs in their back pocket, and ended up with diddily poo to show for it. They looked like freaking us out there last night. Where’s the master motivator who does not tolerate less than 100%? Where was The Process(TM)?

Somebody help with this. What’s a good converstion starter when one encounters a “Dyn(BamaA)sty” decal or hat? Where I live, you can trip over them if you’re not careful.

sniffer…start out with..”You know, Bear Bryant was a great coach” and you’ll have common ground. After that, speak only interrogativly (like that old Peter Falk character, Colombo). You’ll be rewarded and entertained.

  13. Finebaum is Performance Dadist-Trolling Theater. Once you put in that context, it all makes sense.

Before he became a “national sensation,” I recall listening in the early 2000’s. He would troll Bama hard. Making fun of Price, Franchonie, Shula. Shula provided a non-stop source of material. And when Tubberville was at his apex, Finebaum gave him the same wet kisses reserved only (temporarily) now for Saban.

The sickness is not Finebaum, one could argue. Like a Hegelian force of History, he is merely a reflection of his audience. An audience he knows how to play. And play. And play. And play.

Dennis Miller, is that you? Way to up the intellectual depth in the comments, here, Jerome. It’s a welcome relief from Eeyore, errr, Muckbeast whining about how the sky is falling every time UGA fails to make a first down.

If CMR announced tomorrow he wanted to retire and spend time in mission work, what would Dawg fans say. Then shortly after that announcement, Kirby Smart let it be know he would be interested in being Dawgs HC.. One game, damn is not like being Duke or GT. But it has been awhile since the Tide has lost 2 in a row.

    • I never want to see that sneaky traitor, Kirby Smart, ever again on the south sideline in Sanford. When Mama called, he decided to use Mama to get a raise and then allegedly turned around and told recruits he would be the next head coach at UGA.

Saban announces he has changed his mind. Taking Longhorn job. 50% of the state of Bama would be in mourning. Got beat by a better coached, better prepared, and better played team. It happens, more so in bowls. Game is not like the Dawgs…a team that somehow, anyhow, any place can find a way to loss.

This Bama team was flat, arrogant and thought they could just show up to win.
The Bama mom lost her cool.
CMR has lost control of Alabama football players motivation and a Bama mom. Damn him. Its all Mark Richt’s fault.

    Like

    • hunkerdowndawg

It’s not all Richt’s fault. Blame Bobo for Bama throwing it 3 times in a row in the 3rd quarter after averaging 10-12 yards per carry for the previous 5 or 6 plays.
