“He blew that myth out of the water this season.”

It may surprise you to learn that Aaron Murray had a pretty good 2013 season.

  1. This spotlight is long overdue. 11th Ranked QB on CBS Sports.com?? Really? Some team is going to get a steal. I expect Murray to be starting by his second or third season in the NFL.

He is a DGD and some of our fans did not realize it until he was injured.

I agree with this writer. Someone is going to get a pleasant surprise this spring.

I think Cleveland is hiring McDaniels as HC, so some QB will unexpectedly go high in the 1st round.

Murray 2012-13 was best Dawg QBing of modern era. Sadly, D and ST were so poor that his career contributions garnered no hardware. Another great offensive talent squandered.

It makes me vomit to type this, but he’d be a perfect mid round pick for the Saints.

I hope Murray is picked by a good team and gets a good chance, and good opportunity.

He had finally come into his own, IMHO, this year as he finally showed he could handle pressure, and that was the one thing that was holding him back. He made a few more bad decisions that I’m sure he would have liked, but there weren’t that many.

“He blew that myth out of the water this season.”

This is quibbling, I know, but I wouldn’t call it a myth, and I can’t imagine Murray would either. He had to prove to himself, his coaches, and everyone else that he could handle the heat of a big game. Getting too worked up before the game, whatever it was, he had to figure it out. And I was delighted he did.

But the “myth”, while somewhat overblown, and somewhat negated by the national-stage Alabama game, was one that Murray himself had earned. And knowing him, I’m sure in private he would readily agree with that.

I don’t know if I would call it a myth, either, but I will say, as has been pointed out multiple times on this and other blogs, that Murray had to deal with inconsistent o-lines and defenses that other “marquee” QBs (coughmccarroncough) didn’t suffer from. Had he the support in the other aspects of the game throughout his career, the “myth” would never have begun.

Logan Thomas is a big Reggie Ball. Anybody who drafts him over AM deserves to be fired on the spot

Murray will get his NFL chance somewhere, some day but regardless of the team’s record and personnel his first loss as a starter will bring out the “he can’t win the big one” crowd. Even if it is an exhibition.

Pro scouts and GM’s know football and will recognize the talent and determination of Murray. He recovered from a broken leg in a high school season. Fast healer. This article is on the money and my projection is 3rd round or sooner. Hope he is drafted to be developed and not as a first year starter. Too many good players get thrown in the game too early and it ruins them.

I’m sure Murray would be excited to start from day one in the pros, but I’m just as sure that he would realize how much it would benefit him to hold a clipboard for a year or three and learn from a veteran such as Brees.

It’s so nice to see someone other than us Dawgs recognize him as a great QB. I never thought anyone would supplant David Greene as my favorite Dawg but I think Aaron Murray has done it. Mainly because of his off the field efforts. He represents Georgia and the game in general very well. He seems like a true class act and he’s definitely a DGD.

If the Saint get him they would be set. They are use to short QB’s that have to find openings to throw. Let him sit behind Breeze for a few years and he will pay great dividends.

AM is only rated as 11th rated QB on Rivals this draft year and estimated to go in round 4 or 5.
