On the day when Georgia officially announces Jeremy Pruitt as its new defensive coordinator/secondary coach – the same day! – Alabama shuffles its staff to give Kirby Smart the exact same roles.

Coincidence?  I think not.

(I keed, I keed… I think.)

if saban had to stroke kirby’s ego because we bagged an upgrade at DC without extended heartburn, i’m all for it. and if grantham’s salary is inflated because petrino is – ahem – poor company, can i call that pay increase a “shame premium?”

Brown “steps down” after one year. Saban has moved from roster management to staff management. Wonder if the doctors said Brown had an injury that wouldn’t let him perform his duties?

  5. Speaking of coaching changes and ripple effect: On Saturday morning, Vanderbilt had 20 commitments and a 2014 football recruiting class that was ranked in the top 25 in the country.

By Sunday night, a day after coach James Franklin left for Penn State, the Commodores had what one recruiting site called three solid commitments.

It’s not uncommon for schools to lose recruits when a coach leaves, but what’s happening to Vanderbilt 23 days before signing day is not normal.

Two Vanderbilt commitments now say they are going to Penn State, and Franklin has offered scholarships to at least six others.

Cojones … nothing but love for this guy right? This is where you stopped responding to my posts to you. I don’t blame you. Smoke
’em if you got ’em. Pace yourself.
    just sayin

What’s the purpose of calling out someone when:

      1) This thread has nothing to do with the topic you are calling them out about, and
      2) The person you are calling out isn’t even an active participant in the current thread.

Man, and to think that you gave me grief over a harmless nickname just a few days ago

Other beneficiaries of Coach Jeremy Pruitt’s coming on boards as DC and DB are Mason, Ramsey, and Parks. Could become more quicker on release, game speed, and placement on routes. Think this D is excited? No doubt. S&C took on an enter different meaning, effort, an commitment this week.

I remember a long time ago when we hired a defensive coach based on his ability to frustrate an offensive. .

Wilson and Olivadotti both are gone.

I’m sad to see Olivadotti and Wilson head elsewhere — they arguably did a better job last season than their immediate superior.

But supposedly they left because they didn’t get the DC position. And since either Olivadotti or Wilson more than likely would have left had the other one gotten the job, we’d be looking at a complete staff overhaul on that side of the ball no matter whom we hired. That makes it doubly important that we hired the best man for the job — which I firmly believe we did — and while it’s disappointing to lose Olivadotti’s and Wilson’s talents, I’m excited about the opportunity for Pruitt to build his own staff from scratch.

And Kirk . . . as a former Redskins fan, I wish you the best of luck and godspeed, dude. Who even knows where that organization’s headed.

  10. I think it is obvious, Saban is worried about everything Georgia does.
