Somehow, this doesn’t surprise me in the least.

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
No Bama suprises me.

Well bear in mind that most Bama fans are still on AOL or CompuServe, if they have a computer.

+1 – I’ve always thought these guys were self-appointed experts. If they were so good at their jobs, why haven’t the schools snapped them up to run their recruiting operations? People like Tom Lemming are d-bags of the highest order.

The only thing a fan should ever tweet to a recruit is “Welcome to [school]! Looking forward to seeing you on the field!”
Anything other than that is gauche at best, creepily stalkerish at worst.

Reading the comments here (which is one of the more sane fan sites) for the past few years, I’m not surprised in the least.

Don’t use any social media forum so I cannot judge, but from perusing many fan boards on the net the larger program’s fan bases are all candidates because 1)sheer numbers, and 2) they all feel they have something to crow about. Worst i see are ohio, florida, Bama, Auburn, TN, UGA, TN, Southern Cal, Oregon, FSU and ND….in no particular order. Ones with absolutely nothing to talk trash about, but run their mouths any way are SC and WVA. Not surprised to see us on that list at all, many SEC schools once had well behaved, classy, civil fans but we have been drug down to the level of other sports fans. I blame ESPN mostly but have to say it shows itself in all areas of our society.

Want to send a tweet to a 17 year old stranger? Don’t. Even something innocent? No. How about a simple “Go Dawgs!”? No… not even that. Just walk away from the keyboard.

I mean….we have grown men calling people Richtites and Disney Dawgs. Unfortunately, the examples are endless.

And also other grown men accusing people of being bad fans or fans of another team. If you’re going to talk crap at least be fair.

There’s so much self-loathing here I wasn’t sure if we were talking about a Jewish Football Team?
