  1. If Chapel Hill is going to start selling tickets to the public, they definitely did not sell out their allotment to season ticket holders. They must not be very bullish on their prospects for this season or for this game. We should have an overwhelming home field advantage.

Did Brian Herrien just do a single arm clean and jerk of 135 lbs, or were my eyes deceiving me?

I had a roommate who could do that in high school. He walked into a gathering of wt lifters at school, laughed and said he could press twice as many times with one hand what they were lifting and pressing with two(around 130-140lbs on the bar at the time). I witnessed him making the wts rattle each time he threw it up after first lifting it one-handed from the floor. With a nickname like “Moose”, he could do no less. He never picked up any kind of school athletic endeavor and the football coach had to tell him to steer clear of his players after he injured a player wrestling. He lifted the player above his head, spun him around and walked from underneath him. He had no muscular definition to speak of.

I do not regard this as a mighty feat by players who lift regularly after having seen someone who didn’t wt lift do it, but who had a mind so strong that he could perform anything with his body that he said he could.

Dude must have had some muscle to back it up. You don’t lift 135 lbs. overhead one handed with just your mind, unless you’re Yuri Geller.

Obviously the muscle was there, but his arm didn’t have the definition of a muscle builder and he didn’t lift weights except for the exhibition that I wrote about. His definition was similar to an O lineman’s.

The player he dropped was the team’s center.

I have a buddy who teaches high school math. Has a pot belly and looks like he never lifted a weight in his life, but he’s strong as hell. Claims his grandfather was a Russian strong man. Your former roommate must have some good genes like those.

Senator, Kirby’s assistants aren’t on the list because all-new staffs were deliberately excluded from consideration, correct?

Brian Herrien is an intriguing story. I can’t let myself get too juiced about it until the NCAA says OK, because, you know, NCAA.
Still, I like the fact that he seems to have really put the effort in. Dude is not going to feel entitled, and may have a better work effort than – dare I say it? – Nick Chubb. And he looks like a bona fide athlete on top of that. I know, that’s crazy talk, but it’s May.
It also shows that CKS just won’t be out worked either. It seems like we’ve added 4-5 people since the national signing day. I don’t think that has ever happened at UGA, at least not in my memory.

The film of his running ability is as good as it gets. Noteworthy is that he runs through a crowd and keeps outdistancing others that have an angle on him.
