“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
It’s great to be a Georgia Bulldawg. I was born in 1981. I’ve seen some great UGA teams as an adult, but I have not seen in my lifetime a better coached dawgs team. We win no matter what we have to do. Dirty, hard fought, highly Disciplined win. We’re making everyone look like a dumpster fire. I wouldn’t read too much into the lose for the Vols. Many will look this bad, this year.

The Viles will win enough to go to a bowl and maybe a win or two more.

Nothing like a beat down to make your team show up. I’m sure Vols will gather some sort of confidence from the epic loss and make light of the year. …. keep coaching Kirby.

I hope the Vols win the rest. We need for Booch to keep his job.

We’re pretty good, our defense is great. Auburn beat the brakes off Miss State last night also though so that game looks like a coin flip right now. We’ve got to take them all seriously, especially Florida and Tech, who would love to piss in our cornflakes, that said, barring a loss to UF, we ought to reach Atlanta at least 11-1. I don’t think we’ve got the horses on the o-line to outlast Bama unless we get a ton of breaks but I’ll be glad to see it and more glad if I’m wrong.

This defense will keep us in every game we play. In particular, this front 7 is absolutely dominant. With the return of Malkom Parrish, the secondary is coming along. Damn if Tyrique McGhee hasn’t grown up over the last couple of weeks. Roquan was quietly excellent tonight. Natrez Patrick seemed to be everywhere. They are fun to watch.

Great, solid, butt-whuppin win. And I’ll be the first to kick the hornet’s nest … Fromm is the starting QB. Don’t wish any ill will toward Jacob Eason. But Fromm is the guy this year. He just is.

Fromm was 7-15 with a couple of very freshman moments. Hardly a lights out performance. If Eason takes the job back in practice, he should play.

This is not about QB’s either/or. The defense would keep us in a game with Joe T III in the lineup. Did you see those defensive leaders rip Clark for his unsportsmanlike penalty? This defense may be our best ever.

I ask this question honestly with absolutely zero snark: Can Jake Fromm win us a game with his arm if we encounter a defense who can completely shut down the run (Alabama, Clemson, and maybe Auburn are the only ones I can think of)? I say not at the moment. If we don’t run for almost 300 yards today it is a 14 or 17 point offensive performance. Our defense is lights out but even they are going to have let downs at some point.
If Eason plays better in practice he needs to play. IF (the proverbial big IF) he has his head on straight and makes good decisions with the football our offense will be virtually unstoppable because he can make all the throws. Fromm has been amazing so far but he is a true freshman and quite honestly he played like one today. If we are content with just making it to the SECCG then he will be fine. I don’t believe that we beat Alabama or Clemson in the CFB if we should happen to get that far with Fromm at QB.
Just my $.02

I actually agree with you. My point about today was that despite bad play in the first half by Fromm we were still up by 17. Eason doesn’t make those runs, but he also doesn’t make the throws that Fromm made that should have been intercepted. Now we might play a month before the bowels score, but our ability throwing has to improve. Our D , however, will keep us in every game. They are a “hot mess”!

On Eason’s one pass he made two mistakes. 1. He threw it too hard and 2. He missed the completely open receiver in the end zone. Like Matt Stafford: a great arm attached to a brainless body. Fromm is the guy.

I don’t know if Matt Stafford has a brainless body. Maybe his frosh year but after that? He is a gunslinger and always has been. Nine come from behind wins in the NFL don’t happen to a guy that’s brainless….

I still don’t understand our fans who run down Stafford. The guy was a player and never had a defense that came close to this one.

Stafford has complete freedom to audible by the first game of his sophomore season. His brain is fine.

No way Eason should or will play ahead of Fromm. We are rolling, why would you mess that up? Ga isn’t going to see anyone real good until maybe Auburn. Plenty of time for Fromm to take his game even higher.
Now, i think Eason should come off the bench when games are no longer in doubt. Let’s see what he can do- maybe he will “make all the throws” -but he hasn’t looked good so far this year. I’m sure someone ( maybe the Senator) chimes in and says “but, he’s only thrown 4 passes!!” Well, 3 of them have sucked and Fromm has pretty much thrown 3 of 4 good balls all season.
If he come in and looks like the polished vet we were all hoping for then let him play a more active role if/when we get to SECC game.
If he plays like what we’ve seen so far this year, why hand him the keys to the Porsche?

Perhaps we should start a movement just like “Fans of Chan”. His Champions of life approach just should not be over.

If we can dominate the felonious gators in Jacksonville, then I will breathe easier and believe we have a chance at a dream season.

Sure was fun to watch. I saw one missed open field tackle – Tyreke McGee in the 2nd quarter. That has been the greatest improvement to me this year. Even if a guy is one on one, he typically wraps up the ball carrier or receiver by himself, and if they don’t go down, other guys are there before you know it. That is a huge change, in my view. We had a couple of drops that hurt Fromm’s look, for sure, but he forced some throws that he would not make later on this year. He is growing up fast. It would be pretty cool if Eason came back with his head on straight, and could play pressure free. He def has the better arm but you don’t need a better arm if you can run the ball. Which it remains to be seen if our OL can show up for 60 minutes a game. They did it once this year but have not performed at the highest level in any other game. Including this one. On the other hand, maybe I am not giving the Vols front seven enough credit here.

We rushed for 316 yards. Backs don’t do that on their own. That line eventually broke the Tennessee front 7. I’ll take it.

Senator, I’ve enjoyed reading your blog for years now. It’s one of, if not the first thing I check almost daily. In that time, there have been some really bad days and some great days in Uga football history for you to expound on, but I don’t know if there has been a better day than yesterday! And I’m excited to read your recount of what we all witnessed, and what it can mean going forward. The only things that can top it imo are waiting in Jacksonville, Atlanta, and beyond…if we are so lucky, I can’t wait to read what you thought! I hope you enjoy writing this each day as much as we all enjoy reading it! Salute, and Go Dawgs! It truly is, once again, great to be a Georgia Bulldog.
