Alex, I’ll take “Things you don’t want to be reminded of if you’re Jim McElwain” for $200.

Yeah, this is not a good look.

Now at 3-3, Florida is off to its worst start since 2003 under Ron Zook.

Of course, the Gators beat us that year too…..

Looks like their magic has passed. More progression to the mean. I will take our throwaway season last year for better years ahead and it looks the two programs are heading in opposite directions. Also, that view of him in all white is burned in my memory. Damn, just damn.

Florida will get their act together. If anything can galvanize their locker room it will be the “ruin Georgia’s season”. It will be a tough game mentally.

No different than any other team we face, we have a target on our back as do all Top 10 teams. Nature of the best, might as well get used to it. Florida is one of the least scary teams we have left to play, but they are a conference, and division, opponent so it is bigger than AU or GT.

The Florida thing is just silly at this point. They’re not scary, they’re not intimidating — they’re just an average football team, virtually indistinguishable from the South Carolinas and Kentuckys of the world.

They cannot, and will not, continue to own us. It simply makes no sense for that to happen. If Kirby is the real deal, as it appears he is, this series is about to change in a big way.

I don’t disagree but we all know how college football works, anything can and will happen.

The Florida thing should have been silly years ago, same with SC but our former coach made a career of finding ways to lose to lesser Florida and SC teams. Until Kirby turns both of those games into almost automatic wins, the ghost of Pastor Poochkick will haunt the Georgia program. We need to stomp them into the turf on 10/28, not squeak by with a 3 or 4 point win we have to hang on to get. It’s time to serve notice that Georgia is no longer the bed crapping program it has been for the past 10 seasons.

Thanks for showing your ass there.

He does it every chance he can get when it comes to “anything Richt”. Shame UGA fans always eat their own to satisfy their own agenda. Fortunately, he is part of a small group and gets drowned out by more rational fans. This has been a good “century” of football so far, and looks even better going forward….which is were our eyes should be at this point.

        • Is it too soon to pick on that former coach? Pretty sure I see Goff, who was a DGD by the way, get baked on here with regularity. Especially by the transplants who like to pick at his South GA accent….as in… “get butta.” Can’t recall you coming down with both feet on them, but hey….your blog.

          • You damn well can tell the difference in the vitriol it takes between poking fun at “get buttah” and calling somebody “Pastor Poochkick.” Pastor Poochkick isn’t poking fun, it’s taking a personal shot at a man’s makeup. JC’s been making an ass out of himself towards Richt for years now. This is nothing new.

Can’t say I’m big on the smarmy, patronizing “hey, your blog” stuff, but since you brought it up, it’s not like I haven’t asked nicely before and before that. Maybe you could read those posts for some answers to your question.

            But hey… your comment.

            • That probably was smarmy and patronizing, and for that, I apologize. I know that you have asked folks to behave on here, but it just seems…to this reader…that a regular WWE Summer Slam is typically allowed to commence on here (and I admit to participate on occasion) until someone makes a remark about Richt. Derek can run around here calling people terrible words and you don’t chime in, and I am not saying you should..this is your domain, not mine, but someone cracks a harmless joke about Richt, and all of a sudden he gets called out for showing his ass. Just saying that there seems to be a discrepancy is all.

              • I don’t have problem in the world with anyone calling out Richt for his coaching mistakes. I’ve indulged in that myself.

It’s just that I don’t find referencing the man’s religion to be a harmless joke. (Obviously our mileage varies on that.) And I certainly don’t equate it to joking about someone’s accent. (You forgot to mention Dooley’s “long snappah”. Terrible!)

Given that I’ve shown you two posts that are more than a year old, I can’t say that I get your “all of a sudden” angle, either.

Your complaint about Derek sounds like something one of my kids would have said at age five. I’ve called him out before, too, FWIW. I guess the next time y’all engage in a food fight, I’ll just toss everyone in timeout.

As I said in one of the linked posts, this blog is not my day job. If you expect me to be on top of every single comment here, that’s not gonna happen. Stuff is gonna pass by without my notice sometimes. If that’s a problem for you, don’t read the comments any more.

                • Fuck me, you’re right. I’ve only lived my entire life in the South. What the hell would I know about accents?

On that note, I officially put you in charge of getting pissy about people mocking Southern accents at GTP. It’s an awesome responsibility, but I have no doubt based on this exchange that you’ll do a first-rate job policing the miscreants here. Congrats!

UF had 2 of the best coaches in NCAA history over the last 20 years and out-recruited us consistently because of said coaches and demographics.

Richt likely lost games he shouldn’t have against them, but it is funny how most Georgia fans won’t accept the truth. For the past 25 years UF was a top echelon program… UGA was not.

It sure looks like Kirby is laying claim to that banner once again and my suggestion is to buckle up, enjoy the ride. Why throw shade at previous coaches when it doesn’t change anything?

Another test for the direction of the U.S.S. Smart. The hated Gators with two weeks to get ready for us. I hope we walk over UF just like we did UT. All the games matter, this one matters more. This one is a milestone: GATA Dawgs!
