Today, in As The Gator World Turns

In Gainesville, it’s just another day in paradise, as Trevon Grimes wishes Chris Steele, a (for now, anyway) former teammate whom Dan Mullen is trying to coax back onto the reservation, a prosperous future.

I’m sure Dan is grateful for having his message stepped on.  Social media, for the win!

Damn, I can hardly wait for Mullen’s turn at the podium at SEC Media Days this year.

UPDATE:  I figure it’s only a matter of time until Gator players cite the departure of one of their own (because, remember, he didn’t want to room with someone accused of sexual assault) as a bonding moment.

That locker room is going to be a joy to behold as soon as they don’t live up to Dan’s smack talk.

Is it just me or does it seem the Gators are headed back to Corch’s Thug Life model?

Now coaches of All American games are calling them out for talking about him like this. Zero message discipline. It is like they do not realize that one of the top ’19 corners recruit is linked to hundreds of potential top recruits for ’20 and ’21 and on twitter that connection amplified to all recruits. This is a shit show of extreme proportions and nobody in the admin is doing anything. Other than how this affects Chris Steele………I hope this shit never ends. I can’t imagine these parents watching this and sending their kids there.

… yeah, I’m pretty sure that if I’m Chris Steele I’m not going to go back into that environment. Thomas Mars, you’ve got a call on Line 1.

Can this UF offseason get any better? Loving their misery. And we have three and a half months to go.

Regarding the whole ‘gator bait’ thing, I’m sure this has been discussed before but for the life of me I’ve never been able to figure out why they say that. Bait is something you use to entice or attract animals as prey. So what Gator fans are essentially saying is that you (a dawg, etc.) will be used by someone else as bait to attract them (Gators) to come and eat you. Yet they then will be immediately killed or eaten soon after themselves as well but the superior prey.

In other words, they are saying, “hey you…we are going to eat you, and as soon as we do, we are also going to get eaten (or at least killed) ourselves in the process. I mean, with an absurd mentality like that, they might as well change their mascot to the suicide bombers, because there really isn’t any difference if you think about it.

“Dawg Food” is, mainly was, a much better saying. It’s just not used much anymore. Used to be a standard thing when visiting teams entered Sanford Stadium in front of the students, etc…

LSU does the same thing with the “bait” mistake.

Yeah, that’s right up there with “Anchor Down” at Vanderbilt. It’s like “Um, if you’re anchored, you aren’t going anywhere, right? So, uh …”

Vandy related, I’ll never forget the ’17 game in Nashville, and the play by play guys sent it to the dorky sideline reporter guy for a quick feature on the fog horn they sound off when Vandy scores. Well, the reporter went on to say, when Vandy scores, “they call it blowing the admiral.” It was dead silence in the booth, and finally Mike Patrick said…’as Ace Ventura used to say….alrighty then.’

I imagine that Steele was having to put up with a lot of inconsiderate crap from his room mate. His request to be out of that situation was ignored instead of being properly addressed. The saddest and most telling part will be if Gator logic twists this whole thing to paint Steele as the bad guy.

Bet the Gator line to defend the coaches will be the coaches wanted Steele to be a good influence and try to prevent this from happening. Any takers?

I love seeing the meltdown too but damn, fuck Florida. I’d rather see Dawg Porn out of Athens. I hate seeing that blue and urnge.

I’ve been of the opinion that their talent is a notch above the rest of the East (save Georgia, obviously), and good enough for a respectable season. But now I’m beginning to wonder if they may really implode next year. If they were to lose to Miami, which is possible, their season may unravel.

I’d forgotten that they open against Miami this year. I’ll be interested to see how the Hurricanes look under Manny Diaz as head coach.

Well the narrative about how UF is back has completely ignored that they have no OL to protect Franks, who will have to make plays with his feet and get hit often. If Franks is knocked out, things will go south very quickly. Auburn’s DL is going to give them hell too.

If the rumors about wanting to play closer to home are true, then he’ll probably go to USC. I think it would be funny if he transferred to the other USC or LSU though just to blow up that talking point from Gators.

One big distinction there…Luke Ford was an excuse for Fields to leave…Steele had a real problem, reason and even offered a solution and was ignored.

18-22 year-olds are so effing stupid. And incompetent leadership just magnifies the problem.

And all of this means nothing if we don’t stomp a mudhole in their ass this fall.

I asked a week or two ago how Mullen alienates elite talent. This week has made me understand. Maybe Mullen is a mole like Agent Muschamp was. Would be the greatest plot twist ever.

Sideshow Dan the Clown has completely, and totally, lost control of the Florida Gators.

I mean holy shit, guys. That this is all entirely a self immolation by their clown coach and now their players has Florida fans insane with indecision on how to handle this. Some are clinging to their hilarious and untrue belief in Sideshow Dan as a coach who can win with lesser talent because Kirby called a fake punt that didn’t work. Others are defending all of this nonsense as all part of the plan to make FU great again. It’s the greatest reality show in college football. It’s a clown show inside a dumpster fire.

All we can do is watch with glee! 😂
