The production and announcing on ESPN2 was light years worse than last week’s game. It felt like play-by-play guy Philpott and color guy Stouffer decided to turn the entire game into “let’s audition for a studio hot-takes show rather than show highlights or talk about the game on the field.”

Also, I’m still not sure what a pass interference call is supposed to look like. Neither is George Pickens, I think.

And Kentucky is still Kentucky. Only they could choke that game.

Snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. You can’t spell stoopid without Stoops.

Yep. And now we’ll have to hear how the mighty Gators managed to take down a strong Kentucky team.

This! I was raising so much hell that my wife left the room. How that shitty Florida team is undefeated is beyond me and them being ranked where they are is a bad joke. And freaking Mullen. Oh jeez. His half time interviews are delusion personified. He had managed to score seven points in a half and acted like he couldn’t understand why he was being asked about his offense. And the gesturing and mugging every time a call goes against Florida. I hope we hang fifty on them. Kirby despises Mullen so I feel like he will try.

I agree UK choked. That said, did anybody else get the feeling the refs were trying to help the Gators? The game never should have come down to a FG for Kentucky.

Kentucky was playing with a makeshift secondary late in the game..they did, however CHOKE..which is just the Wildcat way.
Florida is a bad team but they are better without Franks.

Yes..the officiating was horrible…as it was in the Alabama/ SC game. SC was over matched but was hanging pretty tough until the boys from Birmingham started their intervention on the Tide’s behalf. While I wasn’t watching when they made the holding call on SC’s first TD (fake FG), I did see their negligent refusal to review SC’s apparent TD right at the half..which at the very least was a bad spot for SC. The game was very tight at that point.

The first angle they showed near the ground, it was evident that his knee didn’t touch, but afterwards it seemed if the angle was higher and you could only imagine the shadow never touched. It was a td and the replay booth should have shown it.

Btw, has anyone heard what Felipe’s injuries are? He was pushed backwards with a guy on the back of his legs pinning his knees down while he was pushed backwards over the player. Last time that happened to me was exiting an elevated tee when the grass was wet and my right leg folded back with my body back against the ground as I slid downhill. Separated my upper thigh muscle that became a knot bigger than a grapefruit. But I fear he received far worse. The pain – it be never stopping and accelerating when you think there is an end.

Dislocated ankle. Out for the season. Hate it for the kid, and I think Florida just got better because of it.

        • Honestly, I don’t get the reasoning. Trask has had several opportunities to take the job from Franks and has never been able to do so, so how is Florida better off now?

There’s a lot of talk about FF being a leader of the team. That coupled with two near even performing players gave him the nod?

It was apparent watching last night that Trask fits Dan’s O much better than FF, though partial credit has to go to UK for having such an awful awful secondary.

            • You’ve seen Trask play less than a half of football and the two are “near even performing”? Kind of a small sample size, don’t you think?

Trask really isn’t much of a runner, by the way.

Trask has a cannon but it is true that KY had no secondary to speak of. I think some of the reasoning behind Trask’s being an improvement comes from (the announcers talked of this) the fact that Mullen’s had once or twice declared open competition between the two with some sort of odd circumstance intervening to save Franks. Last night, Trask clearly had a better game but the whole FU team seemed lackadaisical until Franks’ injury..which seemed to fire them up even as the whole KY bench was having a huge and stupidly premature celebration as if they had just won something big. I couldn’t believe Stoops put up with that. Bottom line was that Kentucky really should have won the game..a missed medium range FG by KY was a real gift to Florida.
BTW…one of the announcers declared KY’s O front to be the best in the SEC. I thought both teams suck but are good enough to beat TN.
