Another week, another Georgia Tech dunking.
I wonder if Geoff’s begun to question whether seven years is enough.

UPDATE: Four games in and they’re already calling for Collins’ head on StingTalk.
Losing 24–2 at all is horrendous. Losing 24–2 to the team from which you just departed for (supposedly) greener pastures…that’s indescribable.

Well, no, it’s that he built a real program at a place that didn’t have one for years, and now he’s got to do the same thing at Fech. Anyone who thought he would have any P5 talent to work with this year is delusional. I don’t know if he was the right hire for them, but what else were they going to get?

Actually, the current coach at Baylor built the program up, won 20 games his final 2 years, and then Geoff came in and went 1-1 vs Villanova.

Will, that’s an exaggeration. Do you know how bad Temple is, historically? Sure, Rhule turned them after the downfall after Golden’s tenure, but anyone at all winning more than 5 games there in a season is doing decent coaching.
Don’t confuse my attempt to clarify this with being a Collins fan or any craziness like that. Getting their rear ends handed to them by the likes of Temple just reflects more on what a complete shitshow the Genius ran than on Collins, in my opinion.

Collins didn’t build a program. He inherited a good Temple program was built by Matt Rhule. Rhule had taken Temple to 10-4 the previous two years with 2 Division Titles and a Conference title before leaving for Iowa State. Collins took over and proceeded to go 7-6 and 8-5 before getting the tech job.

Fair enough that he didn’t actually build it. I stand by my assertion that the horribleness at Fech reflects more on the Genius than on Collins, though…waffles and fake juice sloganeering notwithstanding.

I think that assessment is more or less fair. CPJ’s indifference to recruiting was tolerable when Tech was running an offense tailor-made to papering over recruiting deficiencies. Now that they’re running a scheme from this century, though, the lack of talent is glaringly apparent. That’s the kind of thing you’re lucky to fix in five or six seasons, much less one or two.

If we don’t embarrass them to the point where the denizens of StingTalk want to abandon FBS football, I’m going to be disappointed.

This. Due to how Johnson acted after winning in 2016 (and several other reasons), I think Kirby is on it. 😄

I’ve said for years that I couldn’t wait for the first season that Georgia Tech tried to play any other style of football besides GHSA Class AA option football, but I have to say, the results are even more impressive than I expected they’d be.
I mean, scoring 2 points is even more hilarious than getting shut out. And they’ve got the Citadel dunking on them on Twitter. THE CITADEL.

Notice how the OP earned himself a temporary ban just for expressing his opinion, and the thread was locked? I just LOVE how the techmites are all for free and open discussion. Such a tolerant bunch.

Now we better shut them out in November. Still irritated we didn’t Kirby’s first year.

Yech’s fanbase should be ecstatic they aren’t going 0-12 this season because that’s what I expected.
