Control the ball, play conservatively and let the defense win. This is what we get in a defensive HC, it works, it wins.

Agree with Tebow, but not sure we win more if we open it up & have the defense right back out there. I would like it see it open up more….but WTFDIK.

Honestly, it was quite open with Air Georgia in the early 1990s and we didn’t win any more games (we won less actually). Much as I hate to say it, enough years on thus earth have taught me that indeed, “Defense wins championships!”

Good point, what was it….5 points away from being undefeated in ‘92??

There have been plenty have have won it all with the kind of play we have now.

The media wants ND to be a top 10 team that gets blown out by other top 10 teams. It’s beyond parody at this point. Anyone who thinks SOS matters is fooling themselves. It’s all about points scored regardless of opponent. That’s why OSU will soon leapfrog the whole SEC.

And that is cool if they do, but at some point…they will have to play a quality team (playoffs). The SEC champ will be an automatic (playoffs) imo. Defense still wins…..I guess OSU looks strong there also. Will be interesting to see how it all plays out, but OSU looks awfully strong so far.

But what was it at one time, 0 for 9 against SEC teams (bowl games)? For now, I’m just gonna call’em “0 for 9”.

I agree but the media is only going to become more enamored by the week with how OSU will blow the doors off their unranked opponents. It probably spells more trouble for Clemson than the SEC. Although I’m sure a lot of the media will figure out a way to shrug off Clemson’s 1 point win against an App State-beaten UNC.

My favorite narrative right now is how Herbie and friends are unimpressed with UGA in one breath but think ND’s title run should be preserved in the next breath because they played a great team close.

Don’t care what Tebow has to say, but when I read the whole article, there was not a lot that I disagree with.

Except for the word “unimpressed” I agree with Tebow’s analysis. Conservative, conservative, conservative O. But….we won the game and that’s all that really matters.

Well to be fair, home tebow isn’t exactly known for his critical thinking skills or ability to analyze. Frankly, he’s probably just unimpressed we didn’t kill Notre Dame, you know like his former teammate Aaron hernandez would have done.

On a separate note, do people really think when the actual playoff slots are being doled out in December, anyone is really going to say “but but but Georgia only beat Notre Dame by 6!!!!”. This is called “making mountains out of molehills” and “shit that doesn’t matter”.

Excuse me, but why in hell would anyone listen to Timmy when he has shown no analytical skills whatsoever and if anyone challenged him without his coached script, I doubt he could do anything but sputter? He can’t back up anything that he says.

When he comes on the tube, I click away from that channel as I believe everyone should do; not because he is Timmy, but because he has no more credentials for team analysis than a palm tree. He should be challenged to put his money where his mouth is and that would be to bet what UGA’s season will be like. Hell, I’ll give him the head start of what our record will be by letting him count the first 4 games. Saturday’s SEC panel all just looked silently at him when he began to speak in his high falsetto and no one backed up anything he said. I departed immediately and went to the internet to view a little science. That always picks me up after a downer of listening to a numbnuts.

I have my own takes on the ND game, but just like everyone else, it is just an opinion and we all know what opinions are worth. The wonderful thing about being in the SEC is that whether we are #1 or #6, we will get to take care of business on the field. If we win the SEC barring something really, really strange happening, we will be in the CFB playoff. If we don’t, we still have a chance, but have no one to blame other than ourselves if we are relegated to the beauty contest to get in and fail.

It was pretty clear we weren’t out to impress anyone, just win. That isn’t new for us, or Kirby, but the last person calling us out should be Tebow. He was a great QB/leader/athlete for FU, but stretching the field with long range throws was not his forte. And frankly that, and winning the punting battle, was all we were missing to have domination in every key category of the game.

I agree, we should make a little more effort to improve our perception to fit others’ model (wouldn’t hurt). So long as we don’t lose sight of winning the game, and developing players, why not have a little fun? Seems to work well for others, and we could shield ourselves from cheap/stupid attacks. But Wolken and Tebow are heavy hitters, imo.

Wow, for a lot of bitches and turds that “don’t care” for what Timothy Richard Tebow has to say, there sure seems to be a bunch of posts. Oh yeah, he knows more about football than y’all do.

Georgia must be pretty f’ing amazing if we can execute such a horrifically conservative game plan and still knock off the #7 team in the country.

Meanwhile, Ohio State pulverizes a Nebraska team that will be lucky to back into the Redbox Bowl, and the punditocracy collectively orgasms so hard it trips seismometers in Japan.
