Oddly enough, my ballot is unchanged from last week (mine matched the top 11 in the poll results). I’m voting for teams who still have a path to the playoffs, and based on that I can’t really drop Bama because they’ve gotten in under similar circumstances before. And Penn State really controls their destiny still as well. If they win out, they will have beaten Ohio State and then avenged their loss to Minnesota in their conference championship game. Would be hard to keep them out of the playoffs in that scenario. So I’m still with the same 11 for now:

    LSU
    Ohio State
    Clemson
    Bama
    UGA
    Oregon
    Utah
    Penn State
    Minnesota
    Baylor
    Oklahoma

I’m looking forward to seeing the poll results this week tho.

With my usual gift for stating the obvious, y’all do realize that Bama’s only gonna drop to 4 in the official playoff rankings. Quality loss and all that.

I only ranked 3 teams this week which seemed odd to me. I have had four to five the last few weeks. I felt this week I needed to either rank three or like 8-11 so I left it at three i feel are worthy of being number one.

Dan Quinn shouldn’t be fired if Dimitroff isn’t fired. His drafts have been terrible.

Same as Reverend, but I did still have Wake in my poll last week.

I toyed with including them last week but I don’t believe even a one loss ACC champ has a path to the playoff, Given how weak the conference has been this year. That was why I left them off, and if somebody somehow pulls an upset on Clemson, I’ll pull them off my next ballot too for the same reason.

Rev, How do you guys have LSU and OSU ahead of Clemson if you went by best path to the playoff? Not trying to seem like an A-hole. LSU’s gotta get by UGA and OSU gotta beat Minnesota. I believe those two things are actually going to happen unfortunately but Clemson is a virtual lock. And….Baylor’s got a good shot of beating Oklahoma at home so do you leave out an undefeated B12 team? I dunno.

Remember there’s no “ahead” with this poll. Schools either get a vote or they don’t. The order is inconsequential, it’s just which schools gets the most votes determines the order of the poll. But the individual ballots are not concerned with order.

Just to clarify, whether a school is listed on your ballot as the 1st team or the 20th team, the vote is the same. They’re both getting one vote from you in their column. Then all the individual votes are added up and put in order of who appeared on the most ballots. But it doesn’t matter where on your list you put a school.

So I’m not saying who has the “best” path, I’m just saying I’m voting for teams that have a path at all. If you don’t have a path, I don’t vote for you. I might think UF is better on a neutral field than Baylor, but for purposes of this poll I’m including Baylor but not UF because the gators don’t really have a way to get there while Baylor still does.

Filled out my ballot based on who I think has the best chance to get to the playoff because of the schedules that remain. Only chose the ten I think have a legit shot to get there. It would be totally different if I had to list the top ten best teams obviously and I’m not sure I’d have the Dawgs as high in that scenario. Clemson would also be out of my top four or five. I DO… think after watching LSU/Bama and the defensive dominance in our game that we have the best defense in the nation. I think Bama, LSU, OSU, Clemson, have some real high powered Offenses and without an offense that can put up a shit ton of points, we may not be able to keep up even with the dominant defense we have. But it sure is going to be fun/nerve racking/exciting/etc….. in the next few weeks. F..k Auburn! Go Dawgs!

    Clemson
    OSU
    LSU
    Bama
    UGA
    Baylor
    Oregon
    Minnesota
    Oklahoma
    Utah

I had to put App State over South Carolina, just because.
