Only a handful, eh?
All one can do is laugh.
A handful of Pac-12 ADs were irked when they pulled out a calculator and learned commissioner Larry Scott’s "pay cut” reduced his monthly salary to $353,334.
For three months.
Next week, Scott’s salary is set to bump back up to $441,667 per month.https://t.co/clmhM23Yll

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
Monthly?!?!?!?!
Even his “reduced” monthly pay is more than what I’ve made the last four years.

And I should hasten to add, I’m way better at my job than he is.

Question: How much revenue does college football generate for Div 1 schools each year? Total. What is the distribution of that revenue in terms of totals for each segment of the conferences and universities? The breakdown for the conference commissioners, college President, AD, Head Coach, assistants, players (scholarships stipend food and housing) support staff, down to janitors. What is the % of the piece of pie for the commissioners, the ADs and head coaches since they are all overpaid and we agree they are? Now…..what is the total revenue from non conference or university related businesses like food and beverage, hotel, transportation, trucking etc….You are missing the big picture. They HAVE to play this season or it is a colossal disaster. Not because ADs and Head Coaches are overpaid and need to protect that, but the entire system will collapse. What’s left we will see afterwards.

Jeebus, we’ve arrived at the French Revolution. When 90,000 bucks a month is sneezed at and a man is derided for making himself rich. Y’all want to start chopping some heads off soon? How ’bout we all post our salaries so we can decide who goes first?

Overreact much?
The issue isn’t how much he’s paid. It’s how little he’s done to earn it.

How much do you make, Senator? And can I please see your quarterly productivity reports? I just want to make sure, objectively of course, that you’ve earned it.

I understand your sentiment but I don’t think that’s the point here. This isn’t an inequality witch hunt. It’s the hypocrisy that the man’s entire job is to squeeze as much money as possible out of the amateurism model. This requires him to go to work everyday and speak out of both sides of his mouth. Especially in a time where the revenue streams are in jeopardy due to a pandemic and the player’s safety is concerned, it’s hard to take him seriously based on his incentives.

His conference was already bleeding out before covid, and now hes soaking up all the cash he can before it completely disintegrates. Bank on the Pac12 carcass being divvied up and as a result we will have 4 superconferences sooner than later.

I’m sure we’ll see UCLA in the SECE shortly and they will become our new “rival”. I’m only half joking, unfortunately.
