The transfer portal opens both ways.

Believe it or not, Georgia is losing another member of the secondary.

Let’s see… subtract the 1, carry the 5…

Unless Kirby is about to pull some new faces out of the portal.  Which I’m pretty confident he’ll do.

Jahmile Addae is going to have a stressful August, methinks.

Okay… losing the kid from Miami was one thing, but now this.

WTF is in the water at B-M to make all our DBs want to leave?

The BM water causes a never ending thirst for $$$.

LSU “tampering”. One of the hardest states to pull kids out of and keep them, unless your Saint Nick or the kid didn’t get indoctrinated while he lived there.

That little diddy about “coaches that believed in me will serve as a reminder of what support looks like”, feels like the UGA staff lost faith in his ability, he didn’t work hard enough, couldn’t down field block, something smells there…i get the transfer to miami (family), it seems as though with some hard work/effort/film study/listen a 4* DB is gonna see the field of play alot this season…or just maybe the lure of coach “O” and redbull was to much to resist…

      • Yeah, I’m always a little iffy on recruiting Louisiana kids. A) they’re tough to pull away from LSU, so it’s a lot of resources for something that is unlikely to pan out, and B) they’re so culturally tied to the state, they seems to have a hard time fitting in.

With the usual caveat of exceptions, of course.

Some of these guys have simply been recruited over would be my guess. They see every practice and see the super high quality depth chart.

That’s the thing man… there is no high quality depth chart at DB right now. There is a lot raw talent, but there is a severe lack of depth.

Like I said – the guys see the talent stacked at the position they hoped to play and seek greener pastures. I’m not going to worry about it since I have no control over these young men and Kirby and staff get paid big bucks to worry and plan so I don’t have to worry 🙂

Going to be some shootouts this year.

    • Yeah, I’m thinking so. Not as bad as 2013, but we’re gonna have to score some points, to be sure.

Clemson is the only team we have scheduled that loves to throw it.

If Clemson has success throwing it all over the field, they won’t be the only ones that love to throw it this season.

Auburn’s new coach likes to throw the ball. Florida loves to throw the ball if they’re able. And speaking of teams that would prefer to throw it if only they could, Georgia Tech wants to throw the ball. Tennessee under Heupel would like to. And everyone is going to try it against us, including teams that don’t usually like such things.

May be time to turn up the knobs on the pass rush while they sort things out in the back.

I think Burns sees himself as a starter and after this spring he
learned he wasn’t going to be one. It’s going to take some epic fails in the portal before these kids understand how and when to use it. Hope he does well-just not against us.

When a cornerback transfers out, I’ll be worried. That’s where we’re really hurting, I feel better about the safety spot. However, this sounds like a guy who realizes he isn’t going to be one of the starters at a safety position and is sick of waiting. I wish him luck, but I sure wish he’d stick around instead and see what happens. Guys get hurt, guys fail to perform, all of that. I know we’re expecting the kid from WVU to come in an take a starting job but I’m sure glad we didn’t have any receivers transfer just because Demetris Robertson transferred in.

Entering the portal does not always mean they leave. I trust our coaches to handle this.

I think the question might’ve been, was Burns going to be a featured performer in the UGA secondary? Despite a depleted DB room, not much so far indicated he was going to be The Man. From my perspective, a lot of kids seem to go into the portal to find a place where they think they can shine. I hope it works out for him, but there are no guarantees.

Wasn’t this the same guy that went home for a week and almost didn’t come back at the start of Fall Practice last year? Sounds like there were some issues brewing and he didn’t want to wait another year to start.

On one hand I’m worried. On the other, I keep thinking about how hard it is to pass the ball with Jordan Davis laying on top of you.

I hate to see anyone leave, but the bottom line for me is they don’t want to be here, they aren’t likely to be happy and if they aren’t happy then probably not helpful.

I thought David Daniel was a better prospect so perhaps he slots in just fine. Would have been nice to have Terrion Arnold too right now though.

Also, I would not be surprised if we lose 1-2 more in the next few days since the post-spring evaluations/conversations have commenced.

Let’s hope Kirby can pluck some quitters that went back on their commitments to their school and are a cancer in the locker room and whose parents were real trouble makers out of the portal!
