TFW you know you’re trying too hard

Inside the mind of Danny Kanell, a random sampling from the last three days:

He actually retweeted the last one, in case anyone missed his point.

I’d love to ask him to pick out a pass defense he believes has been tested and then ask how much better they would have played against Georgia’s schedule than Georgia’s defense has so far.

Leave it to Danny Kanell to essentially say, “Georgia is awesome but they really aren’t” in a single Tweet. That takes some skill.

So his point is we may find it harder to completely annihilate and shut out better offensive teams?? Okay… Duh. Perhaps the teams mentioned have such dismal offensive numbers partly because they played us.

If we somehow manage to win the Natty, this dude will be outside the stadium telling people they live in the Matrix.

This is good point. How about we re-rank them without the numbers they ‘earned’ playing us… where do they fall in the national tally then? Maybe similar places, but maybe not. Worth looking if someone is so inclined…

I really don’t care for Danny Kannell.

Facts are only something to be cherry picked to further his BS. Ignoring him completely is what he fears most.

I have to wonder if Danny Boy wanted to be the Georgia QB and wasn’t offered a scholly. Why else would he be so insistent on berating this team? Seems so bitter.

I would like to ask him…not a damn thing. He’s a clown, and he’ll take the position that no matter what, he’s right. His shtick is propped up when CFB fans talk about his stupid commentary.

I listen to his show on the way to work and you can tell he really hates the SEC and UGA in particular. He looks for any reason to put them down. Maybe it because we fired Richt? Maybe its because he is jealous and wants FSU to be the dynasty and realizes it probably will never be?

I don’t really care who is ranked #1 but the nod should go to Bama. Until we or someone else dethrones them, they have earned it.

Again, one of (perhaps the primary?) reasons the teams we have already played have such low rankings is because our pass D completely shut them down…

Exactly, and until we can be given negative points (although pick 6s and blocked punts for TDs count in this metric to me!), going to be awfully hard for our D to to do better than giving up 0.

Me thinks Danny Boy drinks copious amounts of alcoholic beverages while tweeting – nobody is that fucking stupid.

  11. Y’all, be nice to Danny. Clemson, the program he’s been leaning on for the past five years to basically justify the ACC’s entire existence, has been exposed as mere mortals, and his alma mater has a legit claim to being the worst team in the conference. Been a tough month for the li’l guy. Let him blow off some steam.

Danny is basically a handsomer(who isn’t) Dollar General version of Finebaum. Be pleasant and say outrageous things meant to rub two fans bases together until he gets fire. Finebaum has gotten rich doing it. Danny is just following the template, plus he’s a spoiled rich kid firmer star athlete whose idea of adversity was that he only lasted a few, years in the NFL and was never a star there. And he’s a snarky asshole, though I can’t really hold that against anyone. 🙂

Pointed this out before – in an interview in March after the UGA/Bama Natty he was asked if he would support an 8 game play-off and if so, would he be ok with two SEC teams in the 8 team round robin. His answer was ‘yes’, provided that they were in the same bracket. This told me everything I needed to know about DK – he’s a SEC hate – period. And he is terrified at that thought of Georgia and Bama both again and playing for the Natty again. The dude HATED this, when it happened in 2017.

Better to keep silent and have others suspect you’re a dumb-shit than to speak out and prove you’re a dumb-shit.
    (or something like that).
For Dannyboy, that ship has sailed.

I don’t think Georgia plays any especially good passing teams in the regular season, however, if you go by team passer rating instead of yards, Georgia’s opponents so far are ranked:

    Clemson: 118
    UAB: 21
    South Carolina: 74
    Vandy: 121
    Arkansas: 30

Georgia held all of them to at least 20 points below their season average. In UAB’s case, they held them 126 below their average.

Great idea for a promotion: if UGA wins the crystal Kirby gets to shove it up Danny’s ass on the SEC Network. Let Kupppenheimer, Bulova, and Carpets of Dalton bid for the sponsorship.

He knows there’s an audience that wants to believe it and needs someone with a microphone to validate them.

The funny thing is that the act never took him anywhere but down. At one point, he and Scott Van Pelt were on the same prime afternoon ESPN Radio show. I remember SVP giving him the radio version of the raised eyebrow numerous times. SVP is now making bank as the headliner in a prime TV spot. Kanell is tweeting to get attention. And still hasn’t figured out how dumb he looks doing it. Self-ware he ain’t.

How do those teams rank if you take away their Georgia games, though? We have only played 5 games, if 1/5 of your numbers are against the best defense in the country, your numbers are gonna take a hit. LOL
