    Senator, check and see how many years other coaches had been a head coach before their team was ranked number 1. I am sure that there are many who have beat Kirby to it but I’m having a hard time coming up with any off hand except Coker and maybe Tressell (but he had coached at Youngstown for awhile prior to Ohio State).

      All the articles I’ve read on the rankings say UGA hasn’t been #1 since 2007. Have they forgotten that we were #1 for several weeks in 2017 before Auburn beat us? Do these so called writers check their facts?

        I think that was the CFP rankings. As far as AP, I believe this is the first time since the preseason of 2008. After the Ga Southern game we fell in the rankings and then the Bama game, etc

      John McKay was head coach at USC for 2 years before the Trojans were rated #1 in 1962.

    They should move the entire operation to the corner of Baxter and Milledge.

    Not only is Game Day coming to Athens, but SEC Nation, too. So while we welcome Kirk & Co. back to town, we have to put up with Penis-Head Finebaum and Teblow, too. Has that ever happened? Both in one place?

    Also, given the liklihood that Game Day will be at the SEC Title Game (unless they go to Indy for the Big-Ten Title Game), the Orange Bowl Playoff Game (the most likely destination for a No. 1 Georgia team) and the National Title Game, Georgia could be featured on Game Day 5-6 times this season, twice in Athens. Maybe 7 times if they go to The Cocktail Party. That’s insane.

    And all these people bitching about it online? In the first 20 years of GameDay going on campus, they came to Athens THRICE. Once for Donnan; twice for Richt. They skipped the Auburn Blackout to go to a stupid fucking 1-AA game for fuck’s sake! During the Kirby years, they’ve been here 3 times now.

    Do you know how many times they’ve gone to Columbus, OH? NINETEEN TIMES. Most years, especially in the 90’s and 00’s, they went at least twice a year. They’ve been to Tuscaloosa 16 times. They’ve been to Jortsville 13 times. This will only be their 7th time in Athens. So I don’t want to hear it, stupid people of the internet.

    I’m too old to make a big deal out of going to see Gameday, although we did happen by in CLT. Still, it’s great we are getting this attention!

    I might make an effort to get to Marty and McGee. They crack me up and I enjoyed their pre-game show yesterday.

      Marty and McGee are funny. I’d go over to see them if they weren’t set up so far from our spot. We park by Ramsey, they’ll be at the Special Collections Library. I ain’t tryin’ to do all that walking.
