I have to admit, after seeing the Gators’ class yesterday, I may have underestimated their new head coach a little. No, it’s definitely not a class for the ages. In fact at No. 50 in the 247Sports Composite, it’s downright the worst class a Florida head coach has signed in as long as I can remember, but Napier’s done a masterful job in selling it, as this tweet indicates.
If signing the SEC’s lowest ranked class is overdelivering, I’m here for years and years of that.
And he’s hardly alone with that take.
Georgia signed more five-star recruits than any other program in the country. FSU, despite being pantsed by Coach Prime, still ranks seventeenth in the Composite. Yet, somehow, Florida is seen as having had the better day over both.
I don’t know how good a coach Napier will turn out to be in Gainesville, but he’s already got the makings of being a skilled salesman. You can go a long way in college football just on that alone.
Alabama signed another 5-star QB yesterday.
That’s all I have to say.

Not according to 247. Who was that, Stockton? They have him at 4.

He was on the day he committed:

The whims of 247 after that and whether it is a consensus rating matters not to me. What does matter is that Gunner is the first one of the record shattering GA HS QBs that we’ve kept from wearing orange in the past decade. The two guys whose records Stockton broke did ok.

Brock was rated higher. Have we already written him off? I’m a little behind here.

I haven’t written off although to me Brock looks like a bigger faster Stet (which may be ok btw), but I’ve been admittedly enamored with Stockton for quite awhile. He seems like he has that swagger meets ability combination that we’ve not seen since Zeier.

Probably ride the bench while a walk-on takes the field every week.

If he can conduct a press conference without alienating everybody, he’s already a step ahead of his predecessor.

The portal has gutted them too. I’m not sure they have a WR on the roster, and I don’t see one in their 2022 class. Also, they better hope AR 15 figures out how to play more than one game in a row without getting hurt next year.

Believe Prime sold a bag of goods towards that numero ono $$$$ at the next level, any coach worth their secondary salt would and could have done the same (CKS included) with a student athlete that darn skilled, nobody on jackson state schedule is gonna’ throw that guys way in the next 3 years…NIL in the $ec pay$ better…

Part of me believes Deion did what he did to prepare for a package deal when he gets a chance at another school. Hire me and I bring him with me in the portal.

Wouldn’t that package include a world changing QB vs a db…

Isn’t his son the QB?

Guessing Jackson State’s QB will be throwing his way. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him getting a fair amount of WR reps next year.

What? The talent gap between Athens, Tuscaloosa and College Station with Hogtown got wider yesterday. How can anyone possibly think Florida was a winner yesterday?
This Florida class is nothing like our 2013 class. Our guys disappeared. Their guys never signed.

Question, all those that remotely believe the previous FU moronic hc would have signed this class raise their hands…#FTMF

Napier being the HC wasn’t enough to flip anyone or get the current guys with one foot into the portal to hold off. Venables immediately had an impact at Oklahoma for example, but that didn’t happen for Napier. He’s going to need a hell of a lotta luck in the next two seasons to get enough wins while rebuilding the roster.

Napier grabbed a 5-star DB that we really badly wanted.

Yep. I’d say he did really well for being there 10 days. Going to pull several more solid dudes in Feb. He and Corey Raymond don’t suck on the trail.

I’ll admit I was surprised on Wilson.

A guy we badly wanted? And all we did was sign about five five star dbs. Little Billy Napier does t impress me. But “AR15” never did either.

He’ll end up with us in a year or two. A season or so going 7-5 will fix him right up. College free agency has arrived.

Sports press falling over themselves to praise a FU HC. Seems oddly familiar, but I just can’t recall the last time this happened…

Get Napier’s brand GATOR OIL. Feel better about your recruiting. Helps stop diarrhea of the portal too!

Sports journalism is dead. Since they can’t make the money, but have to write about things like an OC getting a bonus for their punter making all-conference, the writers now spout ridiculous takes just to see if it causes a “like” stir on social media. It’s a stupid list from a stupid source. Honestly, the Senator should be in the running for a Peabody Award given the competition.

The sports media loves themselves some Hogtown horseshit stories. FU signs a crater of a recruiting class (one of the worst in FU history) and Napier “overdelivers”. Wait for his ability to “over-develope” 2 star talent. He will also be able to convert water into Gatorade, it will be amazing. All the bootlicking sports reporters can take a long walk on a short pier. I’d have respect for, or at the very least read articles by reporters that call out the obvious and just report. Let the readers draw their own conclusions about Napier’s effectiveness. Was he to blame for the shitty recruiting class…no, you can acknowledge both that the class was below expectation and it wasn’t his fault at the same time.
