  1. Everyone should note where this week’s opponent sits. We aren’t going to be able to roll the helmets out there and expect to win. We need to play a sound game on both sides of the ball.

Preseason reminder that no national champion has ever come from outside the top 10 of the preseason talent composite rankings. Which means everybody from university of Southern California (#11) on down has been eliminated from contention for the national championship before they’ve played a game.

Exactly. This is obviously fake news since Saban himself told us it was a rebuilding year. I mean, they had to play juniors at corner in the NC game! Can you believe the disadvantage they had??

Here’s a number not crunched into those stats.
    ZERO
Kirby didn’t take any transfers this year.
Not even from those powerhouses NATS and Vandy.
Methinks the man is sitting under his fig tree.

    • And had a former 5 Star QB and a 4 Star WR transfer out.

Speaking of Daniels, I was listening to Bill King this morning driving from Perry to Lake Oconee and he was saying how he never felt Daniels was a 5 Star QB talent when he was discussing the Backyard Brawl from last night. Thinks he is a good QB, but more a 3 Star level talent and won’t be playing on Sundays. King feels like the recruiting gurus missed on evaluating both Daniels and Slovis.

Not saying he is right or wrong. Just found it interesting. I do agree with him that Daniels won’t be an NFL QB.

If you watched, the WV receivers were mugged all night by Pitt and when they did have a chance to catch a ball they dropped it. JT threw a lot of passes that should have been caught…at least one for a TD.
I thought both QBs looked good in the game. But Pittsburg’s receivers caught the ball and that was the difference.

I was trying to watch JT’s footwork to see if he was still throwing off his back foot … a habit he was trying to improve upon while in Athens. Did anyone happen to notice? He looked pretty accurate to me and the ball didn’t seem to sail on him as much.

After Clempsun, there is a rapid fall off in talent level. Other than TAMU, the top talent hoarders on that list are who usually populates the 4 slots in the CFB playoff with the occasional interloper. Jimmys and Joes. Jimmys and Joes. All the expansion in the world will not change this.

  6. Real excited to see the spin when Jimbo goes 8-4 again with this much talent.

  7. Hmmmm… LSU is 4th in the conference – with 14 fewer kids.

Think they may be very very scary in short order.

Oregon has 10 less blue chips than us. Not bad…considering a few of our starters coming back to 1st real game speed after injuries..

  9. Alabama was light on depth to be so talented… so light that they needed a new RB, two new WRs, a LT, and a DB to plug in as starters. They seem pretty top heavy to me, and a bad bit of injury luck could ruin the “most talented team in history” season. You saw what happened when Bryce had to rely on second team, 5* WRs. They seem to be having a talent development problem in Tuscaloosa.

This is fine, but the industry rankings are just an index. Smart has shown an ability to evaluate and develop recruits that outperform their indexing.

All that talent and all they got was a lousy “rebuilding” year? Who’s doing less with more now Alabama?
