Thursday morning buffet

Believe it or not, there are other things going on in the college football world today.

  • Louisville hasn’t spoken with Charlie Strong yet.  Phil Fulmer, on the other hand…
  • Ari Fleischer has been, is and always will be a douchebag of the first order.  What the BCS sees in him I have no idea.
  • Stewart Mandel says the Gator Bowl can invite a 6-6 FSU team to play this season in Bobby Bowden’s last game as head coach.  The Gator Bowl says the ACC had better believe that.
  • What is it about schools that make them think they should get away with heavy-handed crap like this?
  • Ivan Maisel interviews four SEC coaches about Alabama vs. Florida.  Their conclusion?  It’s all about Tebow, baby.
  • Today’s “Jane, you ignorant slut” exchange:  Jerry makes the case for why Auburn is as worthy as any 7-5 SEC school to play in the Outback Bowl and cocknfire counterpunches.

    Senator,

Wanted to send an apology out if that’s ok. In reviewing past articles and comments trying to find my retort to Turd Ferguson, I came across the post showing Auburn’s kickoff return. In that post, I busted on Chad Gloer (actually, I said I THOUGHT it was him and Senator confirmed! damn you Senator!) Anyway, I proceeded to bust on Chad for being slow. Another commenter noted it was not in fact Chad Gloer, but Blair Walsh. Wanted to apologize to Chad and that commenter because, upon further review it was not Chad. I appreciate his contributions to the team. In the words of the great Larry David, “I’m a schmuck. I did a schmucky thing.”

And can’t we get a kicker that runs better than a 5.4 40?????? ZOMG our coaches suck!!!!!!

“Phil Fulmer, on the other hand…” that also has the capacity for holding three hot sticky glazed doughnuts too, when in Louivule to do his ‘Fulmer met with Louisville AD Tuesday’ did a detailed mapquest recon on the locations of the metro-Krispy Kremes and is satisfied that the town is saturated enough with them although there are only three but they are big high volume shops. If the town can be saturated enough with them, so can Phil so he’ll take the job as soon as it is offered after the Louisville AD finishes the make-believe interviews that follow Phil’s real interview.

Thanks, i think i owe it to Coach Fulmer to be as accurate as i can be when it comes to Krispy Kreme weigh stations. i mean he’s got have somewhere to spend that $5,000,000.00 ‘retirement’ money on because he’s probably not donating it for Lane’s use and benefit.

“What the BCS sees in [Ari] I have no idea.”

Maybe the BCS thinks he will be the perfect lobbyist for them based on his ability as shown at 1:21 of this old audition tape to deliver a straight line about buying people and keep a Lady GaGa poker face while doing it…

Plus the BCS wants to match up well with the other side’s skill players such as Orrin Hatch, the Utah AG, Country Joe Barton, Obama and what’s left of the Department of Justice linemen. The BCS knew that Ari’s overall body of work showed just how prolifically good he is at what he does. For example, Ari tied Rummie with 109 for third place in this contest:

      “False Pretenses
Following 9/11, President Bush and seven top officials of his administration waged a carefully orchestrated campaign of misinformation about the threat posed by Saddam Hussein’s Iraq.

By Charles Lewis and Mark Reading-Smith
      January 23, 2008

…President Bush, for example, made 232 false statements about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and another 28 false statements about Iraq’s links to Al Qaeda. Secretary of State Powell had the second-highest total in the two-year period, with 244 false statements about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and 10 about Iraq’s links to Al Qaeda. Rumsfeld and Fleischer each made 109 false statements, followed by Wolfowitz (with 85), Rice (with 56), Cheney (with 48), and McClellan (with 14).”

For the record “false statements” may be a misleading way to interpret those words relative to Iraq. Not that we will ever know, just stating there were several good reasons for that effort to bring about regime change and what Iraq possessed as WMD is not a settled issue. I don’t know Mssrs. Lewis or Reading-Smith, but I doubt I would have much in common with their outlook on America. They are entitled, so am I.
