Derek Dooley is pleased to announce the opening of a pipeline from Los Angeles to Knoxville.

UPDATE: Per Bruce Feldman, this is a boatload of awesome.
Weeks ago, Vols faxed over a list of every JR & SR on USCs roster to the Trojans’ compliance office to alert them of their recruiting plan.
If there’s a human being who actually could make steam come out of his ears, I bet it’s Ed Orgeron.
so do you think Richt will pilfer a few more?

Richt? Nah. But I doubt Jackson’s the only kid Dooley’s staff has made contact with.

Can opposing coaches contact USC players to “recruit” them?
This seems so odd. Why would a kid leave USC to go to TN? A new, unproven coach? A bowl game? – according to all I’ve read, TN may not win enough games to become bowl eligible. Players have been ditching TN just as fast as they’ve ditched USC. Jackson could’ve gone to plenty of very competitive schools. This just doesn’t add up.

You think, maybe, Mustain?

The ad today (Atlanta DUI lawyer) is eerily relevant.

Looks like USC pulled a Kiffin on Kiffin this time.

And apparently there is a football god with an awesome sense of humor. I tell ya what, it couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.

While it is interesting that he chose Tennessee, his motivation for leaving USC appears to be because he could’t crack the starting lineup there, not because of the sanctions. His stats from his Soph year indicate that he didn’t get much playing time and/or he wasn’t productive when he was on the field. The SC depth chart shows him as a 2nd string DE behind another Junior right now.
That said, it’s a nice pickup for UT. Any 2nd or 3rd teamers at SC almost certainly translates to a starter at UT at this point.
