“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
FWIW, UGA’s highest from 2016 was 77%, against TCU. (Nice finish.)
2015 was 97%, against South Carolina, of course.

Guys….the Special Teams S&P+ rating is number 1. I honestly don’t know what to do with that. Brain can’t compute.

STs have been awesome. Question is whether it’s Beamer improvement or Fountain’s doing. If it’s Fountain, how are gonna keep him from being poached by others offering a regular position at the end of the year? Or are we gonna have 2 ST coaches on the expanded 10 member coaching staff? Or is Beamer the odd man out?

Can we just at least enjoy Sept before we start worrying about off-season machinations?

Vandy’s offensive percentile vs Bama? Null.

His analysis and the whole percentile theory is deeply flawed. For example, his own Missouri Tigers gave up 43 points to a Missouri State in week one (while scoring 72), and it was a 97th percentile on offense, 15th percentile on defense (as if there are 15% worse defensive performances than giving up 43 points to an FCS team that was shut out the following week!) for an 86th percentile performance overall!!!!
Shorthand metric is ypp, ypp differential, and % of opponents averages on both. We gained 7.5 ypp on an defense that had surrendered about 4 ypp. We limited that offense to 4 ypp when they had gained about 7. that is some MAJOR out-performance. Not Bama-Vandy out-performance…of course!

You know how I know this year is different? Our wins aren’t being dawgraded. They are still talking up ND and Miss State.

glad to see the dawgs trending in the right direction. I would like to see the offense consistently around 80% to go with the defense. That would be a very good team.
