If you’re looking for something to fret about at this year’s Cocktail Party…

In my Power Poll post, I joked about Jim McElwain being in possession of Gus’ ginormous rabbit’s foot, but it’s no joke that Florida’s two game-winning touchdowns came on throws where the opposing defenses were missing defensive backs.

On the one hand, I feel pretty good that Georgia won’t get caught short in that department, but on the other hand, as my inner Munson likes to remind me, it’s not wrong to worry about Florida pulling something out of its ass to win.  Rather be lucky than good, if you know what I mean.

….. especially Against us, Senator. I’ll never go into a GA / FL game with any confidence.

Jacksonville will be the true test if Kirby’s changed the mindset in Athens. Coming off a bye and possibly 7-0 is a prime let down game.

I’m amazed at the Georgia fans who seem to be talking about the Florida game this week. I’m afraid this attitude of looking past Tennessee could spread to the players. I hope not, because I expect nothing but a very tough game against the Vols.

  4. Off topic and someone may have already posted it but did y’all see that Maryland chick smash the beer can on her head and chug it? Holy Shit! It’s worth a look on you tube. The guy’s reaction is funny as hell. To be young again.

If there is one advantage of hiring a homegrown head coach, hopefully its that he understands the importance of this game. I have been a huge proponent of Kirby Smart since before he was hired but the only thing that will kill that is continued bed wetting in Jacksonville.

They should put a bonus in the head coach’s contract for rival wins and multipliers for margin of victory.

Just focus on the Vols for now.

Not sure that psychologically the Fans are more down for this game than are the players. Just think about that and the fact that we don’t want these players, especially these hot-shot Freshmen, to have our version of Jakob Creutzfeldt disease (Jac-WGOCP crutchfall disease) because they are immunized until the day they lose.

Dead on old timer, this is a weak minded fan issue. Our athletes, and coaches firmly believe they will have to prove they are better. The better team doesn’t always win, no question there, but it has nothing to do with voodoo. These guys are about 20 years old (average team age) so the UGA/FU game is 3-3 in their minds. We will win this game, about 85% certainty, I would guess. It has nothing to do with the nineties where they did indeed have a talent and coaching edge, neither of which exists in 2017. New team, new mindset. Only FU fans believe that football began in the nineties, and the logic they used was don’t count those games that were too far in the past. For our 2017 team, the 90s are old school, using FU logic, that is irrelevant. It is our fans who need to step up their game. By November 1, the series will be 4-4 for the past eight years (almost half their lives.) Stop groveling and letting their fans tell you about this series, I expect our all time record to show a double digit edge before these guys graduate. Quit whining and show this team you believe in them.

Despite UK’s miscues, they should have still won the game. I firmly believe that the refs took the game away with that silly holding call as UK moved into field goal range. A beatdown is needed in Jax, the likes of which has not been seen since Herschel. We need to take the refs, luck, psychology, cheating, or whatever, off the board from the kickoff. I’d like a shutout, say 38-0.

The old adage “I’d rather be lucky than good” should be the moto of the Gayturds. As a Tech fan once said about Vince years ago, “Dooley has a horseshoe up his ass”. You can beat a good team and you can beat a great team but you can’t beat a lucky team. During all the dominant years of UGA in the cocktail party UGA had extremely good luck. Florida was the best team on any number of occasions but somehow we lucked out. Since SOS karma has been kicking UGA’s ass and I’m not sure when it will stop. What balances the scales on luck?

I respectfully disagree. We had luck in 1980, for sure, but I was there for many beat downs of top 10 ranked Gator teams. We were in their heads just like they might be with us now. Luck doesn’t equal 44-0 or 24-3 against the #1 team at the time.

“You can beat a good team and you can beat a great team…..” but is is awfully damn hard to beat the refs, and that is what Georgia has to do to beat FU.

Fortunately, only the seniors have a memory of 3 losses which should give them sufficient incentive as well. The rest of the kids really don’t feel the pain of the losing record over the past 20 years the way us fans do.

Huntley-Johnson? Not needed from this tidbit gleaned from a story attached to other articles on FU’s player felony charges at SEC Football: State Attorney Bill Cervone told the Orlando Sentinel’s Edgar Thompson that none of the players are expected to be arrested and that as many as seven are able to qualify for a diversion program that would expunge charges from their record.

One article expresses that Antonio Callaway should be kicked out and let the door hit his butt on the way out. Another gives full details about Scarlett’s part in charging the stolen money to his girlfriend’s account at the bookstore without her knowledge before telling her it was from an agent and purchased booty using her account, meaning that there is no innocence involved in this garish robbery.

I am very proud now that we have a sale on slightly used t-shirts by the dumpster in back of the bookstore where people can learn about Gator Justice, so many other things, Bill Cervone is an example of somebody who’s done an amazing job and is getting recognized more and more, I notice. Jeremy Foley, Huntley Johnson, and millions more Gators who made America what it is today. Big impact.

Instead of fu pulling something out of their asses for a win,I would
rather we put something into their asses for a win. Like Chubbs size 11 cleated foot.
