    Those highlights are really terrific…shows how someone without a huge number of sacks (and perhaps even tackles) could still be wrecking crew by himself. Mark Richt’s best defensive recruit? Looks like he’s up there with Pollock, Thurman, Thomas Davis.

    I love that we are good enough and relevant enough to have Ian Boyd write on us as often as he has been lately. Since Chris Brown has basically disappeared from the internet these days, Ian Boyd might be my favorite at digging deep into concepts/strategy.

    Monte Rice is flashing potential to step into his role next year should he leave. Closing speed has been impressive in a couple of games.

    This defense may have Donnan’s “I’ve been waiting 55 years” level of talent, and they definitely have more discipline. So fun to watch.

    Thank you Dan Quinn!!! If you had not hired UCLA’s LB coach, Roquan would probably not be wreaking havoc for UGA.

    Someone called Roquan “a heat seeking missle” early in the year. His closing speed and destructive tackling is as good as you’ll ever see.

        I called him a heat seeking missile after the ND game. Not sure I was the first, but I’ll take whatever I can get these days. He really is remarkable. I rewatched the Vandy game last night and there was a play that wasn’t particularly noteworthy, but still made me shake my head. Vandy RB was sweeping to the left, and had to beat Roquan on the corner. He gave a solid stiff arm, and held it there right in Smith’s face. The running back still went backwards and out of bounds. I hit rewind to watch it again to see if Smith moved the guy’s arm or how he negated the stiff arm so effectively. Turns out, he was just coming so hard at the dude that his forward momentum couldn’t be checked with a stiff arm. That just became the contact point for shoving the guy out of bounds.

    UGA has three guys in the front 7 who should go top 50 in the draft…Roquan may be the highest of the bunch.

    Can’t stop thinking about Jerry McGuire…some people have the coin, but he has the Quan.

    This and the article about designing the offense to make the most of Nick and Sony’s talents has really blown me away. I’ve been wondering for years what it would look like to adapt your strategy to fit your guy’s talent rather than the other way around
