Shoot me, if you like, but I think today’s game is for the taking if the Dawgs control the run on both sides of the ball, run some up-tempo stuff on offense and don’t turn the ball over. All that happens, and Georgia covers.
That’s really all I got at this point. Bitch, moan, scream, praise and anything else in the comments. See y’all on the other side.

This is a must win or the season is dust. A loss and we are in danger of finishing tired with TN in the East.
I think we’re gonna need to see some individual excellence out there as well as some help from the coaching box. I hope that defense isn’t a paper tiger that has just looked good playing against freshman, wide-requarterbacks and small schools.
We have better players than they do. That’s a f*cking fact. The question is whether we have the discipline, motivation, game plan and game-day coaching to turn that into a win. I think we will. I hope we will. There is no reason not to.
Go Dawgs. F*ck them, you are better than them. Now stomp their throat.

I’m thinking a whole lot of our success today is going to depend on Trey Hill picking up twists and stunts better than he did for the first half of the season. I really hope Sam Pittman lit a fire under the OLs ass these past couple weeks. Unlike most people, I’m actually concerned that our defense is going to get exposed today. So the offense will have to play its best game yet.

Really solid first half all things considered. I wish Jake had a little more touch on some of his passes, and I also wish he’d keep it every now and then on zone reads, but I am nitpicking.
Also wish we’d mix in some play-action with all the runs between the tackles we do.

If you wonder why all the flags against Georgia in the second half…I’m thinking Mullet whined and cried like a baby to the zebra’s about the Cager catch. (Just because that ball touched the ground doesn’t mean Cager wasn’t controlling it. I thought it would go against us even though it wasn’t enough to overturn the call on the field. But it came back to haunt us in “make up” calls by the Zebs….On FU’s TD pass, one of their linemen almost pulled a Dawg’s arm off keeping him off of Trask)

Well, I disagree. It was the chump zebras on the field that were trying to salve Mullens’ feefees..the call on Herrien’s catch was pretty much indisputable from the replays. UF and UGA held all night long…but only UGA was called..most conveniently on Swifts beautiful TD run…I’ll admit it was holding…but go look at the pocket on UF’s score. The ref’s were responding to pressure from Mullet. Just like they do for Saban. The squeaky wheel get’s greased. Fair reffing and Georgia wins this game by two or three scores.
Those that read GTP regularly know that I make no qualms about my disdain for SEC officials.

So close to burying them early, but what a beautiful game nonetheless. That last play by Fromm and Wolf was about as clutch as it gets. I’m still not sold on Coley, but he called a good second half and clearly figured some stuff out in the passing game during the off week.

I really liked the times Georgia took it wide. You can only hold Mr. Swift down so long.
And great pass protection. Mostly Fromm had amazing amount of time.
LikeLike
The line and the tackles especially were awesome in pass protection. The running backs were also extremely good in picking up blitzers. Outside of Landers’ stupid hold, I thought the receivers did a fine job blocking on the edge. The tight ends are what they are, but they did at least make some plays receiving. Herrien couldn’t find any room running, but he had a nice game receiving, including the circus catch. I thought the offense in general did a better job of trying to exploit matchups in this one, and everyone was on the same page. It certainly didn’t hurt that Cager was back for it.
LikeLike
I was a lot happier with the play calling this game. I wish we could score TDs over FGs but I like moving the ball. Even the inside runs were with motion or spread out. Passing routes were good but the OL had a lot to do with that. That protection against that pass rush was excellent. We will need that in Auburn for sure.

Well, I figured I give a few moments for the “Dawgs are above criticism” crowd to get their disdain emptied like a teenager with a porn mag and some Kleenex.
Here are some things I saw this afternoon/evening:
Cooley/Fromm worked the middle of the field a considerable amount more in the passing game and took advantage of the considerable receiving skills of Herrien and the tight ends, indeed putting a bow on it with a game-clinching throw to Wolfe. I even saw a seam pass, thought it nearly ended in disaster.
Fromm, though not surgical in his performance,
gave future opponents the a reason to not stack the box in coming games. And to my delight, Cooley actually schemed some young receivers open in space, particularly Blaylock and Cager on touchdowns and Landers on a near miss. Promising indeed.
Furthermore, they did not ask 11 to throw to fully covered receivers with zero-margin-of-error back-shoulder throws, in fact the only one I can recall was Cager’s catch/non-catch which was actually a horrible decision to throw but worked out well.
The two most striking things: Jake Fromm could have stood back and entered “Dear Diary” entrees in his journal in that pocket (kudos O-Line) and the D-Line lived in the Lizards backfield all night.
And one more thing…..CKS was pragmatic. God bless him for accepting that slam-ball tween the tackles was what UF was keying on all night and he was willing to work the passing game, with the run game to keep it honest.
The defense still has some work to do with tight ends but all told it was a fantastic effort. They attacked the line of scrimmage! I won’t even comments on the secondary in the fourth because it was pretty apparent we were playing clock-eat, bend-but-don’t-break defense at that point. No real busted coverages, they just made a serviceable offense work for it.
We still have some work to do if a quarterback scrambles outside of containment, but who doesn’t?
I’ll give them all due kudos for coming out ready to play, putting in a workman effort and beating a tough opponent. I’m a believer that the team out there today can play with anyone ahead of them on the schedule.

Congrats Dawgs for a great win. The Dawgs beat FU way worse than the scoreboard showed. More yards passing. More yards rushing. More time of possession. Pretty much every stat went Georgia’s way. The only reason the game was close was because of the cheating SEC refs. FU OL held all day long. Ticky tack calls against Georgia all game long. FU’s first TD came after an obvious push off by an FU receiver and the f*cking refs had the audacity to throw a flag on the Georgia DB! Another terrible job by the stinking SEC refs. There are a number of FU fans left with a sour taste in their mouths after the whole pig roast put on by a big FU fan below Quincy. They couldn’t believe the game plan I gave them before the game (Kirby’s stated plan) and kept looking at me when the O kept hitting that line to break their will. They were totally unbelieving of Jake’s passing acumen, as if they didn’t even know he could walk and chew gum at the same time. Completely delusional, as always.
The host was cool, his mouth only stopped smiling at those Dawg TD moments and his roast was moist and tender including the head cooked and kept separate, along with the stomach bacon. Great host for a great game. I counted at least 7 dogs running around having a great time and that approximated twice the number of fans cheering for the Dawgs.
