Today, in coaching comparisons

Shot ($$).

On Nov. 7, 2020, in the 102nd (or so) installment of the game known as the Cocktail Party, Florida convincingly beat Georgia, 44-28. In finally conquering their arch-rival, Dan Mullen and his Gators won the SEC East and validated the argument that he was the best coach in the division. In losing, Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs had lost the division for the first time in four years, leading to questions over whether the program was regressing.

Chaser.

Speaking of Zook, his not-so-fondly-remembered tenure included a .667 winning percentage in SEC games. Mullen’s stands at .656…

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and suggest Mullen isn’t the best coach in the division.  How ’bout you?

At least Zook could recruit couldn’t he? I vaguely remember that. If it weren’t for the transfer portal, Mullen would have a self imposed scholarship limit right now.

I really hope we put a 2017 style beating on them but I have a feeling this is going to be a competitive game. Because that’s how college football works

He’s the biggest douche in the SEC east. That has to count for something.

Let everyone continue the narrative the he’s the best coach. As long as we beat them, they can say whatever they want.

From best coach in the division, to the shoe incident to lose to a huge underdog, to the second greatest moral victory of all time in the SEC championship game, to fielding your 2021 team in your 2020 bowl.

It looks like it was the 2021 team in that OU game based on how this season has played out so far. Cousin Eddie has no consistency and little control…the polar opposite of the current state in Athens. Dawgs are gonna roll ‘em up and smoke ‘em Saturday.

The next paragraph in the article goes on with… “ Last year’s game was the one that relegated Stetson Bennett to the trash bin, right?” I think Stetson gets the short end of the stick on his UF performance last year. He played well before his shoulder was crushed. For some reason that rarely gets mentioned.

Mullet is the living example of the Peter Principle. A decent college OC promoted up to a level where he is incompetent. It was masked at Missy State because that team didn’t have a history of winning. It is exposed for all the world to see at FU.

I’m not paying for a subscription to The Athletic, so I don’t know how he answered, “What happened…?” The answer is that nothing happened, and the idea that Mullen was a better coach was kind of absurd. Georgia found itself without a QB at the same time Florida had put together an elite passing game. The long term prospects for the two schools never changed, and anyone could have predicted that Georgia would be undefeated right now while Florida regressed. The only thing mildly unexpected is that Florida is 4-3 instead of 5-2.

I bet Kirby until Mullen couldn’t care less about what some writers printed about weather Mullen was a better coach. He doesn’t have time for that shit he’s to busy recruiting, coaching up players and focused on winning championships.

Wonder why those writers never mentioned Mullen championships as head coach guess they were too busy feeding their meme/clickbait which is all that story really is.

    It took all of these for the TURDS to finally beat Kirby;
    1) A crazy COVID year with a new OC who did not have the practices to
    completely install the new offense
    2) Multiple defensive starters hurt
    3) Starting QB for the DAWGS injured on a dirty shot while leading
    4) FU having their best QB in years
    5) An all world Tight End
    6) A dropped pick six

They have none of these things happening this year, so I will be very happy to see how far the DAWGS have “regressed”. Ask KY, AUBURN and ARKY how far they have “regressed”

Seth brings up revenge a couple of times in the article, and I agree with him. I get the feeling Kirby doesn’t like Florida, doesn’t like Mullen, and wants to set the pecking order in the East. Smart will have the fellas ready to avenge last year’s loss.

I really enjoy the long-memory posts the Senator shares. Particularly when it comes to Gator douchebaggery.

Smart, Stoops and Heupel (he’s done more with less than Mullen has and UT is on the upswing) are all better coaches than Mullen.
Mullen is June Jones with a more talented team.

Georgia is going to kick the ever loving shit out of these assholes. Start embracing it. Stop hiding behind the Munson excuse. Embrace the fact that your team is the number one team in the country and deservedly so. Georgia is far more talented. Georgia has Kirby, Monken, and Lanning. Florida has some bullshit moral victory, excuses about a play here or there, and Dan Mullen and Todd Grantham. What is it you’re worried about?

It’s not so much Munsoning, it’s just they are playing with house money and crazy shit happens in Jacksonville. That being said I’m grinding up this comment and pouring it into my coffee (and might even snort a little).

I keep seeing it posted that crazy shit happens in Jacksonville. But that’s not true. The better team almost always wins. Same as any other stadium in any other town between any other teams. This narrative that Jacksonville exists outside of the normal laws of nature that govern college football and everything else is nothing but UGA folklore. Spurrier beat Georgia all those times because his team was better and he was a better coach. Same deal with Meyer. The fact that there have been a few outliers doesn’t mean anything as that can be said for any rivalry played anywhere. I’m not saying it’s impossible for Florida to win. There are no guarantees. But they aren’t going to most likely because they aren’t as good in terms of coaching or players on the field. They wouldn’t have won last year without an incredible set of lucky breaks for them. Would you want to be coming into this game needing that to be replicated in order to win? I sure wouldn’t. Give me Georgia’s front seven and Kirby Smart and Dan Lanning I’ll just about even spot you some lucky breaks. Georgia is going to crush Florida. And Florida knows it too.

Also, I forgot to squelch this house money nonsense. How many times has Georgia entered this game with nothing to play for? Were they playing with house money? How much difference has it made historically when Georgia hasn’t had any realistic hopes of winning the East entering this game? Just about zero.

Hate to say it but Tennessee’s coach looks better than Mullen. Kirby is still my man.

  20. Shame on you Senator. You don’t have 2 GLOOE and outgain opponents in losses without being the better coach. Kirby is just loading up 5* and rolling them out there. Danny Boy is coaching up his 3* talent to those great losses AND THE MAN CAN DANCE!!!

And there it is. While that motherfucker is dancing and fucking around on Lake Oconee Kirby is Always Be ‘Cruitn’. That’s fine with me. The lake is a perfect place for MuLLLet as he’s such a douchecanoe.

You know that Kirby is saying to himself right now,
“I have to go out on the 50 yard line before the game and talk to this asshole for 25 minutes and make it appear that I actually like this dick head. Damnit; there are a few things about this job that sucks. Imma try to beat this motherfucker like he stole my kids bicycle.”
