Today, in (don’t) stick to sports

While I appreciate the attempt here to snark Florida football…

… if you’re gonna ding Dan Mullen, Tate, at least be accurate about his shortcomings.  I mean, it’s not like the Portal Master™ isn’t a target rich environment.

[Ed. note:  I’d like to think I don’t need to warn anyone of the consequences of going off the rails in the comments section with this, but I know better.  Consider yourselves warned.]

  1. “…you get statements that make about as much sense as Dan Mullen’s offense recruiting over the last few years.”

    FIFY, Tate.

Truth is – we get the politicians we deserve. Same is true for UF coaches down in FL. Gotta give Tate some respect for his dig.

I don’t care who the candidate is or what the race is for, whenever they try to inject sports into it, they always miss the mark.

This is just further proof that no matter what else they are, political operatives are just big ol’ nerds. They didn’t get it out of their system with the student government association so they kept right on plugging away. Elected officials are sometimes normal people, but the worker bees in politics, the lifers? Just huge nerds without functioning sense of humor. This was a lame attempt at a joke that people would relate to, but it’s probably the funniest thing this dude has said in his whole life.

Agreed sports and politics don’t mix. The one thing that sucks about going to Georgia games in Athens is the enormous presence of political vendors selling their trolling merch. It’s just as easy to buy a “Let’s go Brandon” or anti Hillary shirt outside Sanford as it is to buy Dawgs gear.

Is it the vendors who suck or all of the people who buy it, put it on and walk into the stadium?

Myself, I’ve never noticed a vendor. My assumption was that such swag came in exchange for fraternity dues.

This is how I know your route back out of the stadium doesn’t take you up the hill headed south from the bridge on Sanford Drive. Those dudes are always there and shouting t-shirt slogans that you don’t want to have to explain to your children.

Surely somebody’s gonna test the Senator and his trigger finger here. Amusing but he brought it on himself with this topic.

You know what happens when you give a politician Viagra? He gets taller.

  10. I will take this opportunity to share with everyone one of my favorite all-time governor moments. Sure some (many?) governors have had some silly moments over the years, but none holds a candle to beloved Mississippi Governor Kirk Fordice (IMHO).

I have reservations about voting for anyone willing to subject themselves to the shitstorm that is politics. Sort of like not wanting to be a member of any organization that welcomes the likes of me.

Was it really necessary to insert politics on to this great blog?

A post that is ripe for political sniping. It has been up for almost 2 whole hours w/o the Senator having to pull the plug. That may be a new record. The self-restraint shown by the regulars on here today is amazing. How much longer will that last before someone has to post something (that will get the plug pulled) before, their head explodes from holding back? You know some of you out there are about to have a meltdown. Fight it man! You can do it!

Methinks the politicking vendors will be worse than ever this fall.

  15. There are fouls by both teams on the play.

On the Democrats, logic infraction, number 5. Brian Kemp is already despised by Donald Trump, with no chance of ever getting back on his good side, therefore the accusation is invalid.

On the Republicans, reaching, number 11. Player made an improper use of a football metaphor well beyond the line of scrimmage.

Both penalties offset, replay second down.
