Despite the incredible run of injuries it suffered and the tougher schedule it played, Georgia’s conference scoring in 2013 increased over its 2012 total.

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
Yeah, and the D already has allowed more points than the Dawgs allowed all last year and the season isn’t even over yet.

Thanks for the Pavlovian response I knew I’d get.

Did I mention that I was drooling all over my keyboard as I typed that post? 🙂

Well, Grantham’s D surely shares part of the blame. Had they (and, admittedly, special teams) not yielded as many points as they did, then it would not have been necessary for the O to post the points they did in order to win (or almost win) games.

People are going to lose their minds when Grantham comes back for another year and Bobo gets hired to run his own program…

I believe another stat which should be looked is # of possessions by the offense. Take the avg points per possession. That will tell the true tale. I think the defense allowing so many points has a lot to do with the increased numbers.

Excellent point, Senator. I saw the stat about UGA having every skill position starter and 3 of the top backups from opening day missing at least 1 game this year, and yet, the offense has still been excellent. Meanwhile, on the defensive side of the ball, there’s been what, one meaningful injury? The disparity between the performances of Bobo and Grantham this season is stunning.

Who do we blame? Aaron Murray. A man.

Maybe its because our starting O has to stay on the field the entire 60 minutes and play as hard as they can just to keep us in the game. This must be the most one dimensional team in UGA history.

It will not die until Mark Richt loses control of it.

Oof. Kentucky has scored not quite 15 points a game in conference play. Too bad they and Arkansas can’t settle last place on the field.

I don’t know who we blame that stat on. But I know who we can blame the significantly shittier won-loss record on. And Senator, you are literally the only apologist for the man I know of.

Hunh? I don’t think it’s hard to find Bobo supporters this season.

I’ve been anti-Bobo plenty of times in the past but he has called a few really great games this year. The second half of the Vandy game was abysmal, but South Carolina and Kentucky were nearly perfect. And I think that Bobo calls some incredible 1 minute and 2 minute drills. Like, insanely good. Makes me wonder if we went full out uptempo no-huddle if we could just dominate on those kinds of drives every game, all game long. He has improved every year as an OC. Just need a reliable OL, and I think we may be totally unstoppable. Murray was unstoppable until he got hurt against Kentucky though. That was looking to be a career game.

Let’s blame Bobo after his offenses torches Tech yet again this Saturday. With what he has had to coach through this season, he has earned either a nice pay raise or a decent head coaching offer somewhere. I will be surprised if his name is mentioned a few times this December.

Mark Richt is against lateral moves by his staff.

Moving from OC at Georgia to OC at Florida is not a lateral move. It’s a step down.

Or Foley flys the plane to Athens, dumps off Muschamp, and takes Bobo with him?!
