Is Simmons better than Trent Thompson?

Those stats are a little misleading. Someone from Missouri in the top of a defensive stat? Is he the only guy playing on that side of the ball?

It may just be me, but the Mississippi State folks seem real sure of themselves. Maybe it is just the fans and press, but they don not lack confidence. We shall see.

Where is Jim Donnan? Shouldn’t he be driving that thing? Quite ironic as he actually drive a steamroller onto the practice field in ’97 the week of the MSU game. We tailgated with a bunch of MSU fans beforehand, in which they thought they would win. The final score was something like 44-0.

Yep… was there too, remember it like it was yesterday. Then we went to Knoxville the next game and got it handed to us. If my memory serves me correct, I believe we beat LSU the following 2 years only to lose to The Hillbillies again and again…. hope we ain’t gonna see that again. I hate those SOB’s…..

You raise a good point. Historically UT has the second highest winning percentage in the SEC (behind only Bama). If those idiots in Knoxvegas ever get their sh*t together and hire a first class HC…….

They had one imo, just too stupid to keep him. It all went downhill from there.

Won’t happen. Tennessee lacks the built in advantages that Georgia, Florida and Alabama have. Plus Knoxville is a shithole.

Interesting little stat: over 200 of TN’s all time wins come against schools located in the state of TN, and that grows to over 300 when you add schools in Kentucky, almost 40% of their wins from those two states. Now look at the schools that make up those 300+ wins.

47-0, and I never really understood why such a big deal was made in the lead-up to that game. MSU was coming off a losing season and hadn’t done anything of note in ’97. Maybe he should have used the tractor the next week.

Don’t know if there is a stat for last year, but it seemed they lived in opponents backfield last year too …especially Carter. Honestly don think this one is close. The REAL Dawgs … by 30+

At least Sanford222view understands the situation.
    Numbers and comparison mean nothing.
Concern will be if the Center and Guard can handle him, and how that will impact schemes, playbook, and calls / checks.
Plus if they move him out on the TEs.

Tucker and Grantham reunite, but on opposite sides.
this is going to be fun to watch.
Better get off the scoreboard and watch the play.
Feelings, past ,future mean nothing to these players and coaches.
it is about this game and matchups

Mullen has had his number one ranked team before. Kirby has not.
He has a proven history of building QBs. Kirby has not had a two year starter yet.
    Think on those numbers.
