Shreveport, we hardly knew ye.

Yesterday, the SEC announced its football postseason bowls through 2025, in case you’re interested.

The SEC has extended its current agreements through 2025 with the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, the Outback Bowl in Tampa, the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl in Nashville, the Academy Sports + Outdoors Texas Bowl in Houston, the AutoZone Liberty Bowl in Memphis and the Birmingham Bowl.

In addition, the SEC will continue its relationship with the Belk Bowl in Charlotte, participating in that bowl game in 2021, 2023 and 2025. For the remaining three years of the six-year cycle, SEC teams will participate in the Las Vegas Bowl against a Pac-12 opponent in 2020, 2022 and 2024. The SEC has also added a new bowl partnership with the Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl in Tampa through 2025.

I guess the Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl is the new Shreveport.

This is actually pretty bad for Shreveport. The ACC dumped them too, and the PAC-12 (which is currently affiliated) can get out of its affiliation there if Shreveport cannot get another Power 5 conference to get on board with the bowl. Maybe the Big 12 might sign back on?

No real reason to be there unless you plan a road trip to Herby-K’s

I’d say the Birmingham Bowl is the new “please, don’t send us THERE” bowl destination. At least Tampa has Bern’s Steak House and Mons Venus. Birmingham makes Macon look like Paris.

Runner-up names for Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla:

    The Barely Bowl-Eligi-bowl
    The 12-Cumulative Losses Bowl
The Somebody’s Going Home 6-7 Bowl
The We’d Rather Be Home For The Holidays Bowl

If a bowl game Is held in the woods and nobody watches, does it make a sound?

I may actually go to the Bad Boy Bowl…tickets are well…given away usually.

I understand San Francisco is hosting the 2021 “Tranny Bowl”. ESPN will include Ru Paul and Beth Mowns as the announcers. The SEC has given Dan Mullen and his team an open invitation to that bowl game.

If the SEC keeps putting 3-4 teams in the NY6, it won’t matter.

The Vegas bowl would be exciting for all of us Dawgs on the left coast except that I don’t plan on the Dawgs ever playing there against the 12-Pac. Ought to be funny seeing all of the folks from aubrin or f-u wandering the strip.

I’m just glad I got to see the Ginger Ninja take down the Aggies in Shreveport.
