Dawgs set a record for points scored and Tech sets one for most punts. Seems like a fair trade.

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. 52-7. Jee-Off Collins got Chan’d!!!
However, George Pickens, he of the Million Dollar Talent and 10-Cent Head, does something almost as bad as Elijah Moore and makes it that much more difficult for a Georgia team likely down D’Andre Swift and still saddled with the terrible James Coley (though I expect Bobo to be back in Athens to help game plan no later than Tuesday morning) to win next weekend.
We won the battle today, but may have lost the war, so to speak.

Pickens has now made himself a target for ever DB that he plays from here on out. They will be in his ear (just soft enough that the official can’t hear) talking all kinds of smack just to get a reaction out of him. If his head does not mature quickly enough to catch up to his body, he is going to have a lot of problems.

Did you not watch the replay of what happened? The DB grabbed Pickens and started slinging him around. Then when Pickens started retaliating the DB hit Pickens in the throat. Only then did Pickens throw a punch and the DB threw at least as many as Pickens did. The DB should have been ejected not Pickens. I don’t approve of fighting in games but Pickens was defending himself.

I exorcised my demons today from my last visit to Mark Richt Field in 1989. The fact that we won by a bigger margin than 6:09 was icing on the cake. If not for the mess that was the 2nd quarter, this would have been a beatdown for the ages.

Will it take Swift going down for them to include Cook into the game other than as a decoy? I think its time to take the training wheels/pacifier out of Fromm’s game. His over-reliance on the ONE receiver is costing us dearly. Can he function without having ONE go-to receiver while ignoring open looks elsewhere on the field? We’re about to find out, methinks.

I mean, I’m happy with the win and cover, but this is true too. Can’t fumble punts like that any more this season, and the team really needs to be on the lookout for onside kicks.
And I really wanted a shutout.

Great win. I love beating Tech. Folks who think this game doesn’t matter are so wrong. We now go into the SEC title game with the confidence of having destroyed a hated rival P5 program. That means something. We need 9 in a row.
But the bad part…….
My god. What happened to Fromm’s accuracy? 😦
Watching Fields light people up all year long has been tremendously depressing. Did Kirby really screw that up? 😦
The Swift injury sucks. I hope he is back for the SEC title game. It is really sad for him if not. But for the team, weirdly this isn’t what worries me about the offense. Our offense has sucked WITH him, so we have bigger problems. I’m not in the arena so I have no idea why our offense is garbage. We have 5 stars all over the place and a godlike offensive line. WTF? 😦
I feel like I should be a lot happier about an 11-1 team with a killer defense and a legit shot at a title. But man… the offense sucking this bad makes me feel like there are cancerous problems somewhere in the current staff that is ruining half the team. I dunno. I will hope for the best.
Go Dawgs!

And Fromm actually did regress from 2017 to 2018 in QB Rating and completion percentage.
His mechanics are a mess. No, it’s worse than that. Fromm’s mechanics are absolute garbage. He’s throwing flat footed, he’s not rotating his hips, and he’s not throwing his receivers open.
Mike Bobo can’t get here fast enough.

The fact that you believe he didn’t have a chance through every single practice in Spring, Autumn, and during the season tells us all that you truly are an idiot.

Didn’t have a chance?? He got PT that he obviously hadn’t earned. He got to have the ball on for one of the most important plays of the season. He was given an option for nearly every single play and he wouldn’t even call his own number.
His dad and his lawyer made all of this pointless, though.

If by “everyone” you mean just about every statistical measure relative to expectations, then yes, it sucks this year.
Two things can be true: (1) our offense is terrible, (2) running up the score on Tech is both easy and enjoyable.

Just wondering if some of you think Justin Fields can suddenly read defenses now
LikeLike
You do realize that he doesn’t read a single defensive alignment in his new offense, right?
You do realize that his coaches literally take care of every pre-snap responsibility for him, right?
You do realize that after his coaches read the defense, change the protection, and call the audible for him pre-snap, that after the ball is snapped no more than 2 of his WRs are running “live routes,” right? Meaning that he only has no more than 2 reads to make before he’s supposed to take off running, right? You do understand this, right?
You do understand how these dummy offenses work, right?
Now, if the argument is, “Why does Georgia continue to play a pro-style offense that doesn’t take advantage of the new rules that promote offensive creativity and take some of the work of their QB’s plate?” then that is an argument to have.
But if you’re making an argument that Justin Fields can read defenses when he hasn’t done so the entire season, at least not in the way that’s expected a QB to do so in Kirby’s preferred offense, then you’re a complete idiot.

You’re the one claiming that he wasn’t given a chance like YOU were at every single practice last year, Jeff. Do you not see the irony of your statement, Jeff? Or are you so dense, are you such an idiot, that your self-own is not apparent to you? 🤷🏻♂️
My “legacy” on The Athletic boards is actually kinda funny to me, in that they censored my comments after their horrendous week-long response to the NBA’s debacle in China. I demanded answers, and I was not the only one, and a bunch of us were censored by the site. They also lost a ton of subscribers due to how they chose to respond. If that’s the kind of website they want to be, well, that’s the kind of website they want to be. I can’t worry about it.
As it is, I honestly don’t care what you think. Your outsized response here tells me you do care, though. You should learn to control your emotions, Jeff. They will be your undoing.

LOL at me getting lectured on “contriling my emotions” by a grown-ass man who was banned from commenting on a message board

Censored, not banned, Jeff. I dared to ask why and how The Athletic could publish Vardon’s story which was pure Chinese Communist Party propaganda which outright lies about the nature of the Hong Kong Protests and the protestors themselves, and then went on to the other writers stories defending the hypocrites like LeBron and did the same. I didn’t violate any of their rules, nor did others like me, yet they censored us all.
I let my subscription lapse. Like I said, if that is the kind of website they want to run, I can’t be bothered to care.
As for your emotions, they betray you.

Nice stat out of this one: the only loss Georgia has had since 1989 at Mark Richt Field at Bobby Dodd Stadium was the Jasper Sanks fumble game that the referees absolutely cocked up. Starting in 1990, Georgia is 14-1 in Atlanta against Tech (and 9-6 in Athens starting in 1990).

But yeah, that’s a great stat. I wish today’s game had been at night. Our fans would have lit that stadium up. As it was it looked like a Georgia home game with a little patch of piss-yellow.

Not only did the refs cock up that 1999 game, but that was one of the games tech “won” using ineligible players.

A couple of observations. One, the OG sets rotated nearly every series. Kindley and Cleveland, then Salyer and Mays. Salyer seemed to play better than Kindley.
Another thing, we were in white jerseys and Tech was in the ugly urine-gold tops. I know they prefer to play their big home games in white jerseys. If I’m remembering correctly, the visiting team gets to choose if they wear solid or white. I know it’s being superstitious, but we’ve done better in big neutral site games lately in white. We’re the visitor next week. LSU prefers to wear white all the time. I wonder if Kirby makes them wear purple instead.

Congratulations to the Georgia Bulldogs for completely dominating and humiliating GT at historic CMR Field in Atlanta!
Great game and regular season! 11 and 1 is quite a feat!
The Iron bowl was epic. I really hated to see either team win.
Did you see how Auburn got their FG at the last second of the first half? That was some screwy officiating. They should have ruled the half over instead of putting that one second back on the clock…there’s no way Gus runs the FG team on the field and gets set before the clock starts (without that replay). And also Bama missing that tying FG. and then stopping AU again only to give them a FD by having twelve men on the field.
As the poster “The Truth” posted on the Game Day ..Gus’ rabbit foot is firmly in place.
I was conflicted for that whole game..but it was better for the Dawgs for Bama to lose…Gary Danielson mentioned how impressive it was that Bama scored almost 50 on the Auburn D…but it was more telling that Bama’s defense gave up almost 50 up to Auburns O.
That meteor let us down again.
BTW..the duck fit that Nicky threw at the end of the game was possibly the most entertaining part of the game.

People say they will get their 30. I don’t think so. This GA D is by far the best in the SEC, it’s not even close. I say LSU doesn’t score over 17. I’d love to be proven wrong, but this game doesn’t serve as a cure-all of us. The issues on offense are clearly still there (though we may have the benefit of LSU not seeing much of other RBs and WRs). Our defense might be able to contain LSU, but if we’re not perfect in the other phases of the game, I don’t see where we can make it competitive. We can’t win a track meet with them. And I still have memories of Burrow before he reached his final form running all over us. People say LSU’s defense isn’t good because they allowed a bunch of points in garbage time against an ole miss running attack they weren’t prepared for. It’s not like we’re running that offense. They have similarly talented personnel.
All this to say that I feel like we rolled the boulder up the hill, and it’s about to roll down again. It’s hard to watch it keep happening. I also know I’m being doom and gloom, but I got into some bourbon so I’m sorry!
