TFW you run out of moves

I’ve watched some of the highlights from the Auburn game and the most cringeworthy moment from the broadcast is Rick Neuheisel excitedly burping about Bo Nix: “he’s going Manziel!”.

Yeah, right.

I enjoyed the part of the broadcast where Murray made a couple of references to the Ole Miss-Bama game from the previous week. When asked if Harsin would go for it on 4th down early in the game, Murray said something like “you don’t need to go full Kiffin here” and followed it up with “put the popcorn away”.

Nix’s stat line was 21-38, no TDs, 1 INT, 4 sacks, and -16 yards for rushing. That is… Not good. Some of those incomplete passes are legitimate drops by his WRs but others where him throwing frozen ropes with WRs/RBs waaaay to close. He doesn’t have any touch on his passes.

If one is an AU fan, it must be frustrating watching him play. I’d have a broken TV if I was an AU fan and had to watch him every Saturday. He does really stupid things. Yeah, he can scramble. We probably have 2 or 3 more sacks if he wasn’t so damn slippery. But for as long as he has been playing football, he still doesn’t have the ability to be patient and make reads. If the play takes longer than 1.5 seconds to develop he bails on it and starts running like a wounded deer.

As far as Neuheisel, I’m just glad we aren’t treated to him serenading us with his guitar from the studio any longer before the games. That was very cringe worthy when he used to do that.

Agree wholeheartedly, Biggen. Nix could do that shit in high school. His desire to play that way in high school was reinforced by the 5 star rating. He still thinks he can hero his team to SEC success by doing what he did in high school. He played poorly in his Auburn debute then Seth Williams bailed him out with a last second TD grab to beat Oregon. What did Bo hear? “Bo was amazing!!!!” He got benched against Georgia State then played crappy (108.45 rating) against LSU but was rewarded with the “The Bo Nix Experience ” tee-shirts. All his life he is reinforced to continue to play this ineffective hero ball manner. This fans are his worst enemy.

Nix is hell against UNDISCIPLINED defenses. He counts on his speed and people being out of position. When you have a unit like the DAWGS that are unbelievably fast AND have the disciple to stay home, that shit ain’t gonna work very often.

  3. At the Carter and Beal moment my wife turned to me and did a Bo Nix impersonation “Help me, Oprah Winfrey! Help me, Tom Cruise!” Then we both laughed and sat back and rewound the DVR to watch Carter’s hand dance. Good times was had by (almost) all….

Nix was lucky he wasn’t injured on that sack. Beal landed on him with force.

I bet Nix is in the ice tub for days after games with the beating he takes from all his scrambling.

I’ve had little or no opinion about this guy. Auburn promoted him as the 2nd coming when he hit campus and after being a non-factor the first time Georgia played him and then being downright awful in Athens, he hasn’t registered on the scope. But after seeing some of his play and comments leading into the Georgia game and then watching him during the Georgia game, I concluded that he was a much bigger negative than positive on that team. And not just from his play. It was his attitude and watching the players around him.

One word: Selfish. OK two words: Very selfish OK, there are actually a ton of words, but I’ll just leave it where it is. Have tor mind myself that he’s just aa kid.

But, but, but it was that one (50/50) call that did not go their way just before half that caused Auburn to get their ASS KICKED.

I honestly felt like Bo Nix played fairly well on Saturday. He and Auburn just weren’t good enough to be on the field with Georgia. And they certainly aren’t alone in that regard. Any respect he may have earned from me with his gutsy play, though, was quickly lost with his whining about officials’ calls after the game.

An Auburn player bitching about not getting calls is laughable. Tell ya what, Bo, I’ll go ahead and throw that pass interference flag for you and give you four new downs inside the 5 yard line if you’ll be kind enough to overturn the horrible “no catch” call on Cook in the second half and give us four fresh downs inside the ONE YARD LINE so we can try for a touchdown instead of a field goal. The calls go both ways. You got your ass beat, and you’ve gotten your ass beat every time you’ve lined up against Georgia. You aren’t good enough to beat Georgia. The quicker you deal with that and sack up and get ready to face Arkansas the better, because I’m not sure you’re good enough to beat them either. You certainly weren’t last year – which is why you’re lucky you got some help from some bad officiating calls. Irony.

I will say this. He got away with more scrambling than I thought he would before the game. That said when you run backwards 20 yards to create space to throw, then every pass is a bomb.

  7. Carter and Beal made Bo Nix the meat in their sack sandwich…
