Agree, his schtick acting bored and disinterested and sipping on a bottle of water or coke while making clever comments seems a little contrived to me now. He’s made a ton of money being some sort of coach/entertainer over the years. It’s time for him to move on.

This was one of the three games that had me worried way back to start the season.
Interestingly, all three came in a row: Tennessee, Miss State, and Kentucky.
As the year went on, I felt better than Tennessee because of how they played against Pitt then FU then Bama. I have zero fear of Kentucky.
This game, at Starkville, with those crazy cowbell fans, it doesn’t worry me, worry me, like, I feel confident we’ll win. I just don’t know how much they’re gonna make us work for it. Could be a lot. Could be a little. Who knows?

We haven’t exactly lit it up in sec west stadiums in the smart era.
This is the one I had circled preseason.
Coming off two big wins and having to get locked back in going against something unique and different in a strange environ.
If Carter shows up though…. Well they cant throw it from their asses.

Hopefully, Kirby has had his off season chat with Chris Petersen and Jimmy Lake. They famously had no fear of the Pirate when they were at UDub and always shut him down. Leach never managed more than 17 versus their Huskies.

As a coach who is obsessed with detail, I can’t imagine Kirby has not talked to them and/or at the very least gotten the game tape and reviewed it a couple of hundred times.

2020 was a horseshit anomaly. Florida won the east, Bama won the title, Ohio State got to the Playoff after playing 6 games.

If that’s your problem to focus on during a game, you’ve got much bigger problems in practice. That’s on Leach, not the players. He needs to be in the booth as an OC, not running a program as HC. No way do we lose to that clown show.

He’s running “The Mike Leach Show” not the Mississippi State football program. If Auburn wins that game he looks like a complete idiot for taking time to move chairs when he should have been paying attention to the game.

He is comfortable saying this to the media because he says this kind of thing to the players all the time. Which means that they don’t pay any attention to it.
I still think he got a raw deal in Texas Tech because they thought that they could be Texas.

Earlier in the year people were circling this game as a “trap” game for us but I have a hard time believing our staff and players lose to… that.

Leach’s QBs have an historic third year bump and they brought back a lot of experience in the secondary (like 6th year guys, etc). I don’t think it helps that it’s a night game versus the number one team in the country (cannon shot and all) but I also think if our guys have turned the corner on the rat poison, then I will feel a lot better.
