A little taste of Dawg porn

If you’re wondering how Zamir White is progressing in his rehab, here’s a ten-second look for you.

The cut and spin move at the five-second mark is certainly encouraging, but we won’t know what’s in his head until Zeus faces live action.  That being said, Ron Courson remains the man.

I saw him White getting on the bus going to the first spring scrimmage. He was walking with Swift, both were holding their helmet and shoulder pads. My first thought was I would not want to be in his way if he had the ball. He had a look like Mike Tyson did at 19.

Ive never seen him but damn, is there any other RB in America with more pent up frustration? If he chooses to run angry, he’s going to be really really angry.

For me, Zamir is icing on the cake this year. You don’t really need dessert to have a great meal. And even if you get dessert, a cake can still be really good without icing. I’m not counting on Zeus being a workhorse, and I’m not counting on him being great in his first year back from a pair of ACL surgeries. Even Nick Chubb wasn’t back to his old self until a year had passed.

That said, if Zamir IS close to the player we hoped he’d be in 2019… that’s going to be some mighty tasty icing.

Watching him run in sand scares the crap out of me. #RobertEdwards.
That said, the trainers know what’s up and he looks like a monster. Can’t wait!

Ditto. My heart skipped a beat in a bad way when I saw that sand, even before I hit play.

Scared? Why? Was he playing Beach Volleyball twenty years ago? These are drills approved by one of the nation’s top S&C groups and monitored by elite Physical Trainers. You wouldn’t even know about this drill (and it’s probably from 90 days ago) if the coaching staff didn’t allow its release. And you choose? To be scared? Maybe the commitment young athletes make for playing time at UGA ain’t for you.

We had sand pits installed at several of our high schools. The coach at one told me the sand decreases resistance in foot plants/cuts and and decreases impact. In straight line drills it increases resistance on both extension and retraction. According to him the awkwardness of moving through it activates and conditions supporting musculature not usually targeted, ligaments and tendons, decreasing the chance of injury.

      • Robert got hurt on a play in the beach flag football game, and he tore it up when he landed in the sand when he came down from a jump.

My son’s HS football was cut a year short due to a tib/fib fracture running under coach supervision in a sand pit. It’s not unreasonble to be a bit . . .apprehensive . . . Life as a Dawg.

Very encouraging…and good point about what is between the ears. Knee surgeries sure as hell ain’t like it was 20 plus years ago. He is a difference maker imo.

Spin move was great, but will feel better when he plants his foot and cuts. No doubt he is getting there…..cautiously optimistic.

If he is running in sand coming off of an ACL tear he is fully ready to go physically. There wont be many things that are more draining on your ACL than cutting in sand. I am not sure how long it will take before I am not holding my breath every time Zeus carries the ball.

He certainly looks ready for non-contact special teams scenarios

Really pulling for that kid, and would be been had he not picked selected UGA. He deserves a full recovery, but I will not count on him being what I saw him do in HS until late this season, or 2020. Patience grasshopper.
