If you like talking about gaps between Georgia and other SEC teams, you’re gonna love this week’s numbers.
- Georgia 2.63 (7.10 o; 4.47 d) [NC: -.05]
- Alabama 2.19 (6.65 o; 4.46 d) [NC: -.30]
- Tennessee 1.94 (7.27 o; 5.33 d) [NC: +.24]
- Ole Miss 1.28 (6.47 o; 5.19 d) [NC: -.12]
- Florida .79 (6.79 o; 6.00 d) [NC: +.05]
- LSU .68 (5.94 o; 5.33 d) [NC: +.03]
- South Carolina .28 (5.78 o; 5.50 d) [NC: -.23]
- Auburn .23 (5.66 o; 5.43 d) [NC: +.10]
- Texas A&M .18 (5.55 o; 5.37 d) [NC: -.17]
- Kentucky .16 (5.42 o; 5.26 d) [NC: -.12]
- Arkansas -.01 (6.16 o; 6.17 d) [NC: -.05]
- Mississippi State -.03 (5.51 o; 5.54 d) [NC: -.23]
- Missouri -.08 (5.27 o; 5.39 d) [NC: -.50]
- Vanderbilt -1.17 (5.57 o; 6.74 d) [NC: +.21]
Turnover margin:
- +9: Tennessee
- +8: Florida
- +4: LSU, Mississippi State
- +1: Vanderbilt
- -0-: Texas A&M
- -2: Arkansas, Georgia
- -4: Kentucky
- -5: Alabama, Missouri
- -7: South Carolina
- -10: Auburn
Observations:
- It was just last week I was wondering how long it would be before other teams would join Vandy with negative net ypp marks. Mississippi State and Missouri both play cupcakes this week, so they may dodge the bullet still by season’s end, but Arkansas may not be so lucky.
- Alabama is closer to Tennessee than it is to Georgia. Ole Miss is closer to Florida than it is to Tennessee.
- South Carolina is at the conference’s midpoint.
- LSU is going to Atlanta, having beaten out Ole Miss, whose net ypp is twice that of LSU, and Alabama, whose net ypp is triple that of LSU.
- You know, I can remember a time when Tennessee and Florida leading the SEC in turnover margin would have filled me with despair.
we have played 4 of the 5 teams with positive turnover margins and our cumulative margin of victory is 127 points.
Amazing.

Man, if UGA could stop turning the ball over, we’d win every game 41-12.
Oh, wait…

Extra fun fact: Georgia is in a tie nationally for giving up the 6th most FGs this season — 16. The other 5 teams with whom Georgia is tied have given up an average of 35 TDs this year. Georgia has given up 10 TDs.

Should be a fun SEC Championship game!

I think LSU could be a tough game. LSU plays defense and they run the ball. They also have done weapons in the passing game but it hasn’t been that great to this point. They do what can keep u in games and seem to be getting better, though.
I’ve never cared for Kelly and hate ND but I think Kelly is a good coach who did a good job at ND.

That YPP from them is dreadful. They gonna have a long night come December 3rd.

I’d be interested to see what the LSU net ypp is over the last four games they won against UF (45-35), Ole Miss (45-20), Alabama (32-31) and Arkansas (13-10) or just against SEC teams to catch the UT game but not the cupcakes. The Arkansas game is obviously the outlier and offensively they looked pretty inept and were, in my opinion, fortunate to catch Arkansas without KJ Jefferson playing (and Arkansas looked pretty damn inept themselves with nearly a nonexistent passing game for most of the day).

Yeah LSU may have found some mojo. They will have nothing to lose when we play them, which makes them dangerous. Hopefully we will be fully engaged and kick their ass.

Is it possible for Ga to reach +3 ypp with KY and Tech coming up?

this ypp stat is very telling
we need to clean up the TO – but recently the TOs seem kind of flukey

Some are/were fluky – that was a strange interception on Sat. Some we are just letting folks take the ball away from us.

If this team can figure out how to stop losing the ball, they’ll win another title. IF

I’m kinda amazed that Florida is 4th in Off YPP.
I think Tenn gets to +2 on Net YPP by the end of the season based on their remaining games.
I’d love to see these numbers w/out FCS games included.

I’d love to see the numbers with the fourth quarter taken out. Some asshole coaches don’t take their foot off the gas in blowouts..some (CKS) do.

Anyone know where Ohio st/Michigan sit in net ypp?
LikeLike
Michigan: +2.53
Ohio State: +3.21
The Big Ten is pretty terrible this year aside from those two and Penn State, but they’re both good. I’d prefer Michigan in the playoff, as their passing game is still not great.

If I knew where to find those stats, I’d like to see Ohio State’s and Michigan’s offensive ypp and defensive ypp.

And had I scrolled down before replying I would have seen the Senator’s link.

Maybe “turnovers don’t matter” is the new “sacks don’t matter.”

When we get to the CFP, have to solve the turnover problem

What do the national net YPP numbers look like?

At moments like this, Josh is your friend.
Ohio State’s net ypp is crazy good, in case y’all continue to wonder why my MP ballot looks the way it does.

Regression to the mean is going to be a bitch for TN in turnovers.

So is no Hooker next year.

Yup.
Hookers are a dime a dozen – good Hookers take Visa.
Hookers’ replacement has a really big arm.
