Some tasty tidbits for your sampling pleasure:
- Here’s a look at some of the possible ramifications of O’Bannon, from a Duke perspective.
- “The Internet may be losing the war against trolls. At the very least, it isn’t winning.” No shit.
- Notre Dame’s academic scandal and the recruiting trail.
- For those of you who can’t get enough Todd Grantham, here’s the man live and hands on. (h/t CardDawg, who’s on the mother)
- Nick James, you bad, mane.
- Maybe we should refer to Georgia’s class of 2010 as Survivor: 2010.
- Hawaii’s AD says the school may not be able to afford to continue its football program.
- Oklahoma suspends an incoming freshman after he’s charged with misdemeanor assault, but is making the effort to have Dorial Green-Beckham declared eligible for this season. AD says, “As the university has demonstrated in the past, we are committed to winning the right way…”. Color me confused.
- The Nuttster and Gus, together again.

I think what NM is saying is the word “troll” gets tossed around a little too much on this blog regarding people who just disagree with one another. Thank goodness things are not the way on this blog that they are elsewhere on the intertubes.

I agree, Mayor. There’s a lot of healthy disagreement on this blog, but there are very few legitimate trolls. Thankfully, what trolls do visit here don’t hang around for too long. They wouldn’t hang around as long as they do if the rest of us would agree not to feed them.

Oklahoma has a lot more running backs than they do receivers. Thus a crime by a running back is worthy of a more serious punishment. Fairly simple.

A world where the government gets involved to prevent trolling is not a world I want to live in.

You do know this blog follows the football program of a government owned and operated university? And appears on the internet – a network of linked computers, created and operated by the government.

Gees, y’all don’t fricken know this? The internet was created by the military, and in the US the Dept of Commerce regulates the internet.

And “operated by”, as in the govt can shut the thing down whenever deemed necessary for the public good. Just like the govt can, and a couple times has, stopped the trading on Wall Street. Just like the govt can, and once did, ground all aircraft in our airspace. Fortunately, such infrastructure is regulated by the ‘government’ for the benefit of the citizens.
So endeth the lesson.

Seems like old Gus should be thanking the Springdale 5 at least as much as Houston Nutt. Hats off to Gus for taking full advantage of those high school kids! One could say he was headed to Auburn right from his ill-gotten start.

You make a good point. I recall NPR reviewing how malzahn used to run up huge scores against HS opponents. People questioned what value it taught the kids – on both sides of the field. There’s just something fundamentally wrong with it.
I think that jibes with the fact many commentors on this blog are staunchly opposed to playing patsies, and why so many folks stay home when those games are played – even though CMR would never run up the score like gus enjoys doing.

Without running up scores and those 5 signing with Arkansas the same year he was hired…he might have had to wait longer to make the jump!
