Paul is an absolute ass but he’s spot on in this case. Notre Dame wasn’t near the team Bama was last season and Clemson really doesn’t know how to win yet. If you don’t have the pleasure of living near many Clemson fans you can’t imagine how completely obnoxious a college football fan base can be. I know everyone has their own opinion of the worst fan bases in college football but Clemson sets the standard.

And yet Finebaum didn’t criticize the comments from Alabama players blaming “lack of focus” or “preparation” for their blowout loss as “the stupidest thing he’d ever heard,” which if he were fair in his assessments, he would have. So he’s not really “spot on” at all. He’s just schilling for Alabama, as usual.

This is Paul’s new angle:
“Yeah, Clemson won but they don’t act like they belong and the crown doesn’t quite fit as nicely as it does on Alabama’s head.”
I don’t listen much but I’ve gathered that.
Of course Clemson probably has no idea that the whole point isn’t to be accurate but to stir shit and increase ratings so Paul takes home more cash.
When Alabama and Auburn we’re both doing well (2010) and he couldn’t run either down, he went after us. It’s annoying but that’s what he does.
I remember him saying on the air that he just could get the sort of reaction out of Georgia fans that he could from the two Bama schools.

Players make stupid comments all the time. So does the rest of the public. Dawg players laughing at Notre Dame during the semi final only to get waxed less than a week later in NOLA. Bama players proclaiming Georgia tougher than Clemson and now Clemson players saying ND was better than the Tide. Gator players actually “believing” that they should have won the last two cocktail parties. They are still kids growing into manhood. When they grow up they will realize how dumb their statements were…witness, Paul Finebaum. Oh wait…. 😉
