Sunday morning buffet

It’s probably about what you’d expect.

  • Hello, Newman.
  • Bar Knoxville’s VIP list exceeds 300.  Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name.
  • And the bar’s owners will be talking with UT representatives shortly.  I doubt it will be about renewing season tickets.
  • It’s interesting how Dontavius Jackson’s DUI arrest has changed the perception of his role as “peacemaker” in Bratgate (and doesn’t that seem like ages ago?).
  • The Big 12 requests that the media not refer to the league in print as the “Big XII” yet maintains the roman numeral as a prominent part of its logo.” Who knew?
  • Tone deaf.  You know Mike Leach’s attorneys had to be high-fiving themselves when they heard the news.
  • Phil Steele’s SEC Team of the Decade… isn’t Georgia.  But the Dawgs have nothing to be ashamed about with their showing on his list.

I don’t know what Richt or any other college coach can do when you have some players that are this stupid. NCAA will not allow contact during this part of the year, so what can the coaches do? They have been preached at, players punished, Evans loses his job a few days ago but some of these guys will never get it. Jackson should be kicked of the team.

Don’t kick Jackson off the team, demote him to the scout team. Seeing him every day at practice in his scout team jersey will make a bigger impression on his team mates than not seeing him at all. Suspend King for a game and demote him to thied string. Durham needs the extra first string reps to shake off the rust. Wooten and Brown can use extra practice reps also.

Phil Steele stands alone as a college fb reporter who knows his subject. None of the bs you get from the other ‘sportswriters’ – who don’t appear to know any more than a stranger you’d bump into at the mall. Except for a few bumps in the road Dawgs did fine the last decade. But CMR needs to find a way to bring home that glass football!

I’m was leaning to Coach DD’s attitude about punishing the whole team when a member makes a mistake but since the UT playa’s took that to mean the whole team should now get in trouble together, I don’t know any more.

  7. Newman is the man! I missed him on the court and wondered whatever happened to him. Nice to see those strong UGA predictions. Go DAWGS!

Hey Senator – some of us were just trying to be objective about the “peacemaker.” Those thugs in the taxi sounded like his buds from his hometown, so it was the least he could do to try and calm them down, but at least he did that. Objective on my part doesn’t mean naive though, and I venture to think there are many more like me out there!

First the bar owner says, “We’re a UT nightclub, business and restaurant. We’ve always treated the football players and basketball players alike. We’ve always treated them highly, because we’re a UT gameday headquarters. Basketball and football players have always been VIPs.

Oh, but then she says, “”The VIP is nothing that has anything to do with UT athletics.”

Oh what a tangled web we weave.
