Tuesday morning buffet

It’s not as good as a breakfast at T-Rays, but it’ll have to do.

  • If Paul Johnson is the genius Mark Bradley insists he is, then this should be no problem.
  • Jarvis Jones is a semifinalist for the Butkus Award.  Good to see that somebody’s paying attention.
  • Mark Emmert suggests a $2000 increase in student-athlete scholarship amounts, but Boise State’s Bob Kustra isn’t impressed:  ” … Go back and examine the life of a student athlete in intercollegiate sports in America today, and see how privileged they are to be where they are and the opportunities they have.”  Lazy bums!
  • Meanwhile, there’s a bunch of college administrators who don’t think Emmert’s gone far enough with his proposals.
  • Spurrier’s ban on Ron Morris-attended pressers?  His-tor-ee.
  • This may be the consummate Pat Dooley header.
  • Georgia 26, Florida 20.  (I would take that in a heartbeat.)
  • Defense,” coach Turner Gill acknowledged, “is the area we haven’t made the best improvement.”  No shit.
  • If you’ve been looking for Mudcat’s car, it seems to have turned up in Eugene, Oregon.

I’ve seen UGA -2.5 to -3 and I’ve seen UF -2.5 to -3. What gives?

Last I heard from my compadres in Vegas, the WLOCP is off the board.

      Brantley’s uncertain status is why.

I hope our offense plays better than either of the two teams that were in Jax last night.
And I hope we don’t fumble the ball as much

A gal I work with got one of her degrees in Gainesville and is a typical gator. (She also likes Tech because her daughter went there.) Most years, before the Cocktail Party, she asks me “By how much do you think we’ll beat you this year?” Didn’t hear that this year. I hope for good things on Saturday.

Remember Chuch, they can give it with the best of them but they cannot take it. FL fans haven’t really changed all that much from the 70’s and 80’s – loud and obnoxious, which masks a rather large chip on their shoulder. They can be very arrogant, but the moment they get down they are done. No fan base can rival their propensity to roll up in a ball and whine.

I have some relatives from Tennessee (don’t say it …just think it. 😉 ) and I use to get the same thing. This year they have been rather cross. Looking forward to the holidays! Oh and Stafford and Timmy face each other on Sunday. It’s been awhile for those two.

    RE: Mudcat’s car

Why would a PAC-10 athlete be driving a car they “borrowed” from a University employee?

We all know that the PAC-10 is an august scholarly conference with nary an interest in the dirty world of athletics.

  6. Thought of you this weekend, Senator. I had to stop at Tomln’s BBQ shack in Dillard because I knew they’d be shut down for the winter until May. I usually just get the pork but decided a pound of brisket was in order. Talk about a life-changing decision!

Tomlin’s run a great bbq stand. If you get a chance get it. They also put on the Dillard BBQ and Bluegrass festival each August. 60 or so teams from across the country head to Dillard to compete for fame and glory.

Anyway, they are great folks, they put on a great contest, and they cook great bbq. win-win-win.

It’s confirmed, Brantley will start. Good I say. Put his gimpy ass back there and have our ends run him all over the field.

You guys might not believe this but I really want to defeat Florida.

I still say Brantley is out, despite all the smoke screen news coming out of Gainesville. I’ll believe it when I see it

Realized why ranking Big12 teams in the top 10 gave me that uneasy feeling. If it was truly an objective rating, then I would have researched their D. Now someone else has done it and confirmed moreso that the choice to kick Ok out was reasonable. There is no resistance in the conference to O and that accounts for their high flyers like K.St., Ok.St, and Ok. Voted only for Ok. St. and kept Wis because they can beat the Big12 teams. That may be verified post-season. Makes betting a little less dicey at that time.
