Hungry?
- It’s the details that make the Jameis Winston arrest story special: “A Leon County Sheriff’s Office deputy said Winston ordered three pounds of steamed crab legs with Old Bay seasoning and one pound of steamed crawfish with Cajun seasoning and then left the store, according to the incident report released this afternoon.”
- Oklahoma plans a stadium expansion that will cost between $350-400 million. Because, the kids.
- Mike Leach thinks Mike Leach would be crazy to leave Wazzou.
- I have no idea what this column is supposed to show.
- As much crap as we throw the genius’ way, he deserves credit for this.
- Here’s a recruiting loophole I bet gets closed in a hurry. And let Georgia State’s head coach explain competitive balance to you: “We’re not going to recruit the same person, you know? There’s no way. The Sun Belt doesn’t recruit against Penn State. Let’s face it: I’m not competing for kids against Penn State, or Georgia and Alabama. I’m just not. Nor will we ever. It is what it is.” Gee, I’d hate to see player compensation get in the way of that.
- Mark Schlabach’s post-spring top 25 makes me wonder if Florida is the new Notre Dame, conventional wisdom-wise. And TAMU at fourteen? Hmmm…
Florida the new Notre Dame?
Nah, they’d be in the top 5.

Johnson really has improved Tech’s player’s academics. And it shows on the football field.

Au at 4 is even more of a reach…how many of the games they pulled out of their arse last year you think will go that way again?

I don’t know…they’ve got pretty deep arses over at AU.

I haven’t really been keeping up with other teams’ attrition this off-season, but it may be another “king of the dipshits” kind of year.

When asked why Old Bay and Cajun but no Zatarains, what Jameis should have said had he not forgotten, “I sea food differently.”

With all the off-field attention Winston is getting, maybe Coker has decided to hang around to see what happens?

Did I read that correct Winston completed 20 hrs of community service in a single afternoon?

Numerically, all rankings are pretty silly in pre-season, but I agree that Bama, Auburn, UGA, and USC in the Top 10 causes MS to have a credibility problem. We have way too many question marks to assume they will all be answered positively. Teams I would put in Group 1 going into the summer, in no assigned order, are: Bama, FSU, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon. I feel Group 1 should be larger than 5 teams (probably 8) but cannot decide this early who makes up the rest of that group. If these 5 teams don’t make up all of the Final 4, I think they have a minimum of two of the spots, likely 3 of them.
The Tide may be my shakiest pick of that group of teams because Bama will have to win the West, and the SEC title to make it, and they will have tough competition from LSU and Auburn to make Atlanta. I don’t see an East team winning the SEC but believe Mizzou and SC have a slight edge in the East race over UGA mostly because of their home schedules.

Mac, Auburn won the SECCG last year. Georgia had them on the ropes and only the biggest fluke bonehead play in history allowed the Barners to win that game. Georgia beat LSU last season. Are you saying that if the Dawgs play Auburn or LSU in the SECCG we can’t win?

No, we can certainly win because if we get there we will have answered most of our questions and must be decent/competitive. I do think Auburn and LSU are ahead of us right now, but we have Auburn at home (late in the season)and don’t play LSU. I also think we are at a disadvantage against SC and Mizzou but close enough that we could beat either/both. Again, we have more questions than them but that doesn’t mean we don’t get the answers right. I don’t see UGA as a championship team this season but like all Richt teams, we are good enough to beat anyone on our schedule and possibly eak out a title in Atlanta….just don’t think that many things will go our way this season. The last two years convinced me the football gods are still not ready to smile on UGA, but we are certainly due to some good breaks.

I can see the Gators in the top 20. They had turrble injury luck last year so you figure it won’t happen again. There’s some talent there though it remains to be seen how the new OC uses it.

I wonder if Alabama is going to have a year similar to Florida’s after their big season? Florida looked absolutely pathetic in their loss to Louisville in the Sugar Bowl, and Bama looked pretty weak in their loss to Oklahoma this year. And they have a new quaterback and offensive coordinator.

I enjoyed both of those bowl games so much that they pulled my “S-E-C, S-E-C” card from me for 30 days
