2022 Mumme Poll, Week 6

And so it begins.

303 voters.  The average number of teams on a ballot was 11.  88 teams received at least one vote.

Here is our top 25:

Ten teams finished on at least half the voters’ ballots, with six of those appearing on over three-quarters of the total.

For comparison’s sake, it’s too early for the selection committee’s version, of course, so we’ll have to settle for the AP top 25.

Pretty respectable overlap there.  We’ve omitted Utah in favor of Coastal Carolina, but other than that, the lists are fairly similar.

The most impressive thing about the balloting remains how efficient we are with time.

And that’s with the average ballot containing eleven teams, remember.

Unsurprisingly, we favor the SEC.  A third of the total votes went to teams in that conference.

Another thing that has remained consistent is the percentage of voters from Georgia.

Way to go, you three international voters!

The rivalry question turned out as I expected.

Yep — the team we most want to see Georgia beat, followed by the team we hate to see Georgia lose to the most.  And zero votes for the ‘Cocks.

That’s all I’ve got for now.  Have at it in the comments.

  1. My 13 were the top 13. I considered Mississippi State, but I just think the clunker is coming. They may be on the ballot after this week and definitely will be if they beat Alabama the following week.

Seems to me the big test is always whether Leach will have enough flexibility to adjust when the standard plan isn’t working. “They run the same offense every week…”

      • I go back to our 2020 game against them. I don’t think we changed anything other than to shorten the drops of the corners and LBs. After we did that, we took Leach totally out of his game plan.

Michigan State????? 18 people are total morons whose entire vote should be discounted based on that.

Ok. Looks great. But am I wrong in think the vawls are the great pretenders this year? Something tells me they may get exposed harshly on Saturday.

Can’t believe Tech even rates as a rival for most, especially coming in at #2, ahead of Auburn. I am of an age that I have seen us lose to them in some seriously inexplicable fashions over the years, but still…just don’t get it.

One person left UGA off of his or her ballot. I wonder how many other schools were on that ballot. If she or he only had Alabama on the ballot then that would be different than having, say, 20 on the ba

Any ballot without any of the top 3 should be discarded.

That’s the perfect way to describe the rivalry question.

  11. Since Spurrier left, I just can’t muster up enough emotion about South Carolina to give a single fuck. And even then, the only reason I disliked them or cared at all was because of the transitive hate for Spurrier.
