You know that bit about X number of teams that would trade places with a team?
Georgia is that team.

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23

I was somewhat surprised to see Okie State on this list. I like Gundy.

I was kind of surprised to see them there too. They win a lot of games but it’s like you don’t really hear about them.

They largely got forgotten about last season, despite an excellent year, because they played butt-ugly football. Total Coley stuff, but it worked somehow.

I don’t think the Big II gets much respect across the board. Except for maybe Josh Pate.

Georgia has given losses to three of those teams in the stretch. That’s the really cool part of that stat to me.

Kind of a weird cutoff. Cincinnati’s last 23 games are 7 in 2022 (6-1 only loss to Arkansas), 14 in 2021 (13-1 only loss to Bama in CFP), and AAC Championship Game and Peach Bowl in 2020 (L to Georgia). So 2022 to date, all of 2021, and AAC championship game and Peach Bowl in 2020? Odd.

If he extended it, it would be even more impressive. We’ve actually gone 25-1 in our last 26 games.

It would be more impressive for Cincinnati as well if it were extended to full seasons. Since the start of the 2020 season, Cincy is 28-3.

No one ever accused me of understanding betting odds🤪. Thanks for letting me know. Maybe I’ll pick it up as I go along. Reading about it sure hasn’t helped.

Three things on my mind related to this post, the previous post and a recent talking point:
This post gives off the “we’ve made it vibe”. I am still deliberating if we (the fans) are allowed to feel different than the team. At this point, I think the fans have a little more grace than than the team, because Kirby doesn’t want the team to feel like they’ve made it and they are the pinnacle. And he’s right to do so.
This weekend comes down to a few items: controlling & limiting AR and Florida’s running game, not turning it over (that lead to points or momentum) and the offense playing to its ability (matchups & talent). I guess I have more Munson in me than this blog’s title would suggest it has. I always expect a struggle. The keys are simple, but the execution is always in question until it’s done.
For those that want to move the WLOCP, I share as someone who attended both the game in Athens and the game in Gainesville. I am not sure how many Georgia fans can claim that, but I doubt it’s many. I also was there in the rain and mud when Shannon Mitchell and Zeier played their asses off, only to lose on a BS timeout. As a side note, I grew up a Bama fan that saw the game moved from B’ham to home & home. And these are my thoughts:
The Swamp is without question, the loudest and most intimidating venue I’ve ever been to. (I have been to all SEC schools except LSU, TAMU & Mizzou.) That triple deck end zone is a wall of sound you don’t want to play in.
Ask Bama fans how playing in Auburn went for them in the beginning.
If it’s really about recruiting, then adjust that.
Finally, FTMF! Let’s beat the $h!t out of Florida and then get ready to do the same to Tennessee.

i have been to games at the swamp. it sucks down there. it makes clemson look like paradise. for those wanting the home and home and you travel to away games, why not be around 40,000+ uga fans vs 2,500 uga fans and in an even shittier stadium when we play the turds?
the only, and i mean only, good thing about shitsville, florida is that Tom Petty is from there.

Great points. Lots of folks screaming, “Play it in Athens!” Like they’re forgetting we’ll then play 50% of a our games against Florida in their shithole of a stadium.0

I was at all those games you mentioned. The Swamp didn’t stand out to me as particularly intimidating even though we got our ass kicked. LSU is the only stadium (by far) that has made my ears literally ring because it was so loud.

LSU truly stands out as the loudest outdoor, non-enhanced sound system sporting venue. You literally think your ears are going to bleed when things get roaring.

Next year Cincinnati will be in the BIG 12 so that Cincinnati-Oklahoma State game may be for the top spot (Unless Texas is back next year…..again).
This is assuming that TX and OU are not gone from the BIG 12 yet. OSU, Cincy, TCU, Baylor, KSU,ISU, and now even KU(sorry WV and JT) is still a much tougher row to hoe than the gauntlet of the mighty ACC or PAC 12

It’s not too late to shitcan Texas and OU moving into the SEC, is it? I’m still hoping for that miracle. FTMF.

I’m a little bit torn on this. The selfish part of me wants them so the DAWGS will be playing a whole lot closer to me on a more regular basis. In addition, living amongst them, it will be fun to punk their sorry asses after we kick their asses. On the otherhand the more practical side says they bring nothing but arrogance and entitlement to the party (especially the T-sips).

I have no problem playing either as out of conference games. I just object to putting them in the SEC, which will cost us some historical rivalries.
