- D.J. Shockley on Aaron Murray: “But in my book, he’s No. 1. He’s done it all. The numbers don’t lie. He’s put them in position, and obviously he can’t play defense and special teams. He’s definitely had a great career and worthy of being one of the best.”
- Johnny Football’s going to
makeannounce a decision about his future before TAMU’s bowl game. - “The celebration by locals that for decades has been Florida football has more of an atmosphere of “Let’s just get this over with.”“
- Revenge is a dish best served urnge.
- The financial aid deals Georgia signed with two recruits this week have five-year terms. Still haven’t seen a downside for a recruit to do this.
- It’s been a roller coaster ride for Arkansas’ seniors.
- Want something to worry about in today’s game in Athens? Kentucky’s defensive ends are fifth and seventh in the conference in sacks.
““But does it mean that I could win the big game because when we played in the SEC championship, we only gave up three points [to Arkansas in 2002]?”
Three points….three fucking points.
These are the ONLY defensive numbers that matter….how many THEY got.
We don’t want to remember the Awbun comeback because we lost.
If I had a football team, and had to have a quarterback, it would not be Buck, it would not be DJ, it would not be David, it would be Aaron Murray.
The comeback against Awbun was his finest hour….too bad, Todd, your shitty defense let that pass.

Pick an UGA QB for an all-time team? Interesting! Sticking to the “modern” era, I’ll leave Sinkwich and Tarkington out of consideration. For me it would certainly come down to Greene or Murray. Greene fits the mold better…tall, accurate, smart, cool. Saban would love him. But if I picked 2nd and didn’t get Greene but instead Murray, all else being equal (like Defense!) I think I win with Murray on my squad. I’d run better plays than Bobo (obviously!…) and his feet and heart just eek out Greene. Of course, #34 has to sit out, and I get Butler as my kicker. Plus I’d remind Goldberg to tackle Greene when he turns his back to the LOS and starts that slow stroll!

Here’s something for all the “fire all the coaches” persons.
“We want to win Tennessee, basically, be state champs. It’s a big game for our tradition.”
Too bad, Juan…you picked the wrong school.

DJ was my favorite Dawg QB because he not only stayed when he had lots of options elsewhere, but because he then delivered with an SEC Championship in the one time at bat he was given. Batting a thousand, very impressive Mr. Shockley. I will always love him for that but I now have to admit there isn’t any UGA quarterback that I could rank above Aaron Murray. He has accomplished so much in his overall body of work, both statistically and in terms of his toughness/leadership. Several times he has put the team on his shoulder, and he did this without ever having a consistent OL or a defense to hand him short fields or give him more time for additional drives. And he always handled himself in a classy way, on the field and off.
I hate to see his era in Sanford end tonight, but I know he still has more in store for us. I doubt Alabama would have lost a game in four years if Aaron had been there instead. Not knocking AJ, but Aaron is a better college QB and had to demonstrate it often. Hope he lights it up for one half tonight and steps aside.

Mac, that is the most resounding endorsement for a really top notch QB signing with Alabama rather than signing with Georgia that I have ever seen or heard. “He would have been undefeated in all four years if only he had only gone to Bama, rather than going to Georgia and losing 17 games (so far).” Sheesh!!! That said, to be fair about it, I privately have thought the very same thing myself only I had the common decency not to post it on the internet.
